“Best Pizza this side of the Atlantic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

Growing up in Brooklyn, New York I have very high standards when it comes to Pizza. David Ravanesi is a Pizza Artist. His attention to detail is amazing! His Pizza dough takes him 30 hours to make and the results are extraordinary. He even makes his mozzarella from scratch.
Save yourself the Air Line ticket to Naples, Italy. Ravanesi can transport you to Italy with one bite!
You will enjoy the trip! The music in the restaurant will complete the experience- When Dean Martin Sings, "When the moon hits your eye like a big Pizza Pie, that's Amore." You will fall in love with this Pizza.

“**Excellent** Neapolitan pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2014

Ravanesi is a small craft pizza restaurant. The ingredients are very fresh and the owner's love for making the pizzas is evident (you can watch your being made!). The result is an incredibly tasty pizza - from the home made crust up through the finished pizza. Ravanesi is a BYO with a relatively short menu (they don't make 25 different kinds of pizza). The restaurant is located in a small strip mall that you can only get into heading east on Baltimore Pike. They do not take reservations and you need to make take out orders in person. The owner and his team were very friendly and customer oriented. The price of the pizza was absolutely worth it.

“Ottima, Sopraddente.. The Real Deal!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2014

Had pizza here a week ago on the recommendation of my very "American" neighbor, but who we have nicknamed "scoop" because she always gets the inside "scoop". Since I am of 100% Italian decent and visit Italy often and she is 0% Italian, I was skeptical at best. The restaurant is small and in a strip center so if you are looking for ambiance, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for authentic Italian pizza -right here in Glen Mills PA... well guess what, this is it! Bring your own wine or beer - and bring your wine cooler too! This is a "no frills" place but the pizza is exceptional.

We came back a 2nd time within the week and brought two of our three adult children with us. They often debate about past pizza experiences in Florence, Venice, Rome, Sicily, etc.. and they raved about this Glen Mills pizza place. Dave, the owner is very genuine. He did a ton of research to find the exact pizza oven he was searching for and had it shipped from Naples. He has been experimenting with dough recipes since he was a kid. Now, that's dedication! The dough is light and crisp, the sauce is perfect and the mozzarella is fresh, light and creamy. At our request, Dave made us Nutella pizza for desert and the kids at the next table soon became our best friends.

Wear your most comfortable jeans, pack up your wine or beer cooler and bring your appetite. You will have an incredible pizza dinner at a dirt cheap price.

“14" disappointment”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2014

This small pizzeria has been touted as a cult classic since opening a few months ago with their
1000 degree oven, 50 lbs of hand-made dough per day, open at 4:30, close "when we run out of dough" policy.

Stopped in, placed an order, told it would be an hour (?). OK, no problem since I live close by. Came back in an hour. Cook was in active discussion with order taker about who was getting which pizza. Typical restaurant confusion. Meanwhile, a "friend" of the cook (in an orange shirt) was meandering around tiny kitchen chit-chatting with the cook, while the cook is trying to get the orders straight and wield long pizza handling devices. None of this confidence inducing.

Pizza came out at about an hour. It was undercooked (c'mon, how do you undercook at 1000 degrees????) and there were no peppers (pepperocino, per menu.) At over $19, not worth it.

Bottom line, if you pride yourself on a special dome shaped 1000 degree oven, a limited quantity of hand made dough and you're going to CLOSE when that runs out, you should put every ounce of effort into making each and every pizza as close to perfect as possible. Tell your friends to stay at their tables so you can cook your paying customer's pizzas properly...you can catch up with friends later.
