Well it was a night when we got home late and just didn't want to forage at home.
We quickly phoned friends in Philly and asked if they wanted to meet us out. We are from Doylestown so it took us @ 35 minutes to get there but it was so worth it.
Three lovely women greeted us at the door and welcomed us warmly. Off to the bar, making it in time for happy hour, the female bartender was ready w a smile and special drink options.
We both had "skinny" margaritas that went down too smoothly.
Our friends arrived and we were brought to a great table and offered the chance to order some apps.
The restaurant had a special "flat bread" they called huarache that was full of cheese and goodies. Amazing. We also had some smoky (chipotle?) Salsa and smooth guacamole. Salsa was a 10 but I wish the guac was a little more chunky and maybe had some jalapeño spice.
We mixed apps and dinner plates for our second course. The shrimp ceviche rocked but the fish one fell short this trip. Normally the flavors are very crisp, this time a wee bit muddled. Kale salad was more then generous.

Overall the restaurant did a fine job and they have staffed it w an amazing crew. Of note was a male waiter who enthusiastically shared his menu suggestions and told us of his great workout regimen. We are definately coming back.

This terrific place was originated by a chef who served under former Iron Chef Jose Garces (Philadelphia's hottest chef for the past decade or so), and it's a great step up from the usual Tex-Mex fare. Very well-executed mole poblano (my menu fave), along with imaginative takes on items like fish tacos. Good selection of margaritas, and a lively bar that captures a lot of post-work seekers of R&R. Reasonable prices and (always) fresh and high-quality ingredients ensure a good value and an enjoyable change of pace.

Excellent Mexican food with some twists on the traditional. I have been there twice and enjoyed the Huarache, the fish taco, and the shrimp ceviche. Everything was quite good.

I had the house Nachos which were quite good with lots of cheese and peppers. The service was attentive and the ambiance was good. The noise level was high but thankfully we were in a quiet corner

The family was together for Easter on Sunday and Easter Monday it was only my wife and I and our two eldest daughters, Beth and Chris, who had both celebrated a birthday in April. We went shopping in the Morning and on the way home we stopped at the Catina.

The ambiance is comfortable Mexican and the lunch menu is limited but diverse. A good list of appetizers and soups and about 6 entrees.

We started nibbling on chips and salsa and Chris order the Black Bean soup, both of which were served promptly. Then we waited for our entrees and had to ask the waitress to go check on our order. It was ready and came out warm.

I had the Tilapia special and it was quite good. All the meals were generous and tasty. Two of them could not be finished and were taken home for the next day's lunch.

Prices were in the $9-12 range for the entrees, quite reasonable. Service was good early on, mediocre later. The food made us forget the delay. Good!
