We will never stay in another Econo Lodge again! Grant it you get what you pay for, but for not much more we could have stayed across the street at a more decent place.
We were there on a weekend getaway for our anniversay. When I had called 2 months prior to making the arrangements I was told they no longer have the 'Romantic getaway package' which I said was fine but we'd like a king/jacuzzi suite. After he had me on hold for 5 minutes, he got back on and said they could do the package, it would be $79.99/night which we were staying 2 nights.I called a week prior to our arrival to confirm was given the same info. Called the monday before we left was given a price which was $29 more than the first two. At check out I had mentioned to the young lady that we were not that happy, she just said sorry! The carpet in the room was wet, we could not even use the jacuzzi it was so dirty, the whole reason for getting the suite, the coffee pots handle was barely on, the bathroom floor was dirty and the wallpaper was coming off...just very dirty looking. We wanted to have a relaxing weekend, but after the looks of the room, we did not stay in it other than to shower and sleep. We went to go in the pool and there were 8 boys goofing off in the hot tub, they were jumping from the hot tub into the pool as the parents sat and drank beer which it stated no alcohol, no jumping, no cannonballs, no running. Grant it they are kids, but we have 2 ourselves and would of never let them act like this seeing there were other adults wanting to enjoy the use of the pool room. They were in and out of the sauna, so couldn't use that ... they were under the age of 14 but that sign didn't mean anything either. The breakfast was HORRIBLE!!! There was nothing to eat, the bread was even terrible! The staff in the breakfast area was not friendly, they acted as though you were in their road. One of the workers did however get us ice since the machine was out of order and the front desk people were friendly.Guess it's a lesson learned!I always stay with the name brand top hotels but tried something new we will never do it again. When we got home and I balanced our check book Econo Lodge ended up taking $4 less than what was stated on our receipt.

Room Tip: Don't stay at the Econo Lodge!

Looked for a place to stay on the way back from Fla so that we could get to the Canadian border early next morning. Found coupon for Econolodge decided to check it out/if not good go to one of the many other hotels in the area but found it was a great place, nice pool area with place to sit outside (nice after 10 hrs in the car), pleasant frontdesk persons, clean, large room..king bed, fridge, microwave. Breakfast very good. Will stay again.

Room Tip: Look for coupons at Stateline.

Went to Splash Lagoon over Easter weekend with 14 and 9 year old girls. The hotel was very good for the money. Staff was nice and helpful. Coffee available most of the time. Pool, hot tub and sauna all nice and clean. Kids loved the pool with the mirrored ceiling! We had a king/whirlpool room with a pull out couch. Not the best arrangement but the kids didn't complain after sleeping on the pull out. Fridge and Micro in the room. Our room was on the 3rd/top floor overlooking the pool. It did get a little stuffy up there but the a/c cleared it. Nice gym. Oldest was able to workout for track without a hitch. Breakfast was great. Ladies who served were VERY nice. Provides a bus to the park. Drivers were very friendly and opened the door for us every time. All over this was a great place to stay. Found out later from a local that the hotel is relatively new so that is probably why it's so nice. Econolodge generally isn't my first choice..

Room Tip: Ask for a king/whirlpool- best deal

I came up to Erie to visit my son in college. There are many hotels in this general area and I have stayed in a few. This hotel is minimal frills, clean with decent staff. No negatives but don't expect a whole lot. Nice pool and jacuzzi.

The deal with Splash Lagoon (across the street) is quite good. Rooms were modest in size, but clean and comfortable. All the staff we dealt with were pleasant and accommodating--gave us extra supplies as needed and allowed us to leave some of our things at the hotel while we enjoyed our last few hours at the water park. Our bathroom had a shower only (this may be an issue for some) but worked fine for us. Overall, this is was a good value--not high luxury if that is what you're looking for, but a good deal for travelers with reasonable standards.
