Stayed here to break up a road trip. Clean and tidy but generic. A better option than a lot of dumsp though.

Stayed here while driving to Florida. Very nice hotel, very clean, nice rooms, good breakfast, but right next to the interstate. All I could hear all night where the trucks on the interstate. If you are a light sleeper, this hotel is not for you. Note to readers: lesson learned - no matter how high the rating on Trip Advisor, you should always map the location of the hotel. If its beside an interstate, and you are a light sleeper, you probably won't be happy no matter what the rating is.

This was described to us as a new hotel, it obviously is not but I must say that it is cheery when you first walk in and is nicely decorated with well appointed rooms. The pillows are a little small but we brought 2 of our own.
This hotel advertises free breakfast but make sure you check if there are any buses there when you arrive, it will affect when and if you decide to eat breakfast. The food/breakfast was described as extremely good but I would describe it as average hotel continental fare. It consists of scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, waffles, toast etc., oatmeal and a variety of pastry i.e. small muffins and bagels. Also milk, cereal and yogurt. Also available are coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I just can't help missing a served hot breakfast as often the "hot" part of this breakfast was very cold.

We actually complained to the front desk as on Saturday am - our party went down 2x to find the first time - no hot breakfast left and no one replacing it (just after 9am) and the 2nd time - no seats available (around 930 am). This was due to the bus with the sports team and that night - a second bus pulled in. I think this is due to the sports arena down the street. The other issue with the buses is that the kids were continually running up and down the hallway and slamming doors between the rooms which kept us all awake both nights. It would be nice if the hotel could keep the buses on their own floor to avoid disturbing the other more relaxed guests so everyone could enjoy their stay but we were told that we didn't understand the "hotel business" when we complained.
We did complain about the lack of breakfast and the fact that we ended up buying our own elsewhere and also about the noise at night. When I first broached the front desk - the clerk was pleasant and told us to check with her again on our return from supper as she would talk with the manager, she told us they had never before compensated for missed breakfasts etc. However, upon our return, we were met with a different attitude from the same clerk, who told us that it was basically our fault that we didn't report it to the front desk at the time and that usually they have a meeting room open to accomodate the extra people, however - there was a meeting going on at the time (not our fault).
She was borderline impatient and spoke down to us - she then told us (as mentioned above) that we wouldn't understand how things worked unless we had worked in a busy hotel environment - especially when we complained about the noise. She said they try to talk to parents and have cameras to try to monitor (obviously not well). I told her that we do understand "customer service" as both myself and my friend are nurses and all 4 of us work in civil service and sometimes even small compensations or apologies make a difference. She said she would talk with the general manager.
The next day (check out) we noticed that there was an extremely large amount of food, even at 945 am (buffet closes at 10) and the kitchen staff were very noticeable after being absent the last couple days. We felt bad as there was likely going to be alot of food wasted being so close to closing but at least they did listen. We were both given at discount on our bill so we are very appreciative of this. However, the front desk clerk could have been more understanding and patient.

Room Tip: Ensure you ask for a room that is not on the highway side as the hotel is located beside the 190 and...

My best friend and I stayed here during a Christmas shopping trip to Erie and were very surprised at what a great hotel this was for the price.
The pool and hot tub were just what we needed after a long day of shopping. The location is very easy to find. The beds were very comfortable. We slept great and I actually thought about buying one of the pillows!
The front desk was very accommodating and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was very good- one of the best I've had. Overall this was a great stay and we will be staying there again next year.

I travel a lot, and most Wingate Hotels are nice, but this one beats all the others. It is newer, has the upgraded rooms, its super clean, nice fitness center, great location, friendly staff, and very large rooms. The bedding is super nice, and the pillows are excellent. A wonderful nights sleep, and a great place to stay for more than one night. I was impressed by the front desk staff, they go above and beyond. A great place to stay, and not much noise, Id suggest the top floor though. I give it 5 ***** Stars! I will be back! :) I stayed in the King Suite, Huge room!

Room Tip: Always ask if you are a rewards member for free upgrade, if the rooms are available they should upgr...
