A historic, but more elegant place to eat in downtown Erie. Dependable pricey food. Nice place to go out to eat!

We thoroughly enjoy our meals when we go to Pufferbelly. It is charming and the food is great! Our waitresses have always been kind and accommodating. The dinners are generous and always of good quality.

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday which seemed to be a quiet time. The menu choices were surprising, not just your usual cafe food, fresh fruit served with most sandwiches. Good place for a business lunch or a quick bite if you are visiting someone at Hamot as well as dinner with evening activities in the area. The waitress was very attentive. A solid choice in the downtown area.

I normally taken guests to a Sunday brunch at a resort in New York state but decided to mix it up a little and try Pufferbelly because I like to choose local establishments over chains.
The service was OK. To make 1 omelet with only 1 person I front of my guest took a long time but he did like it. The selection was less than steller. The eggs Benedict was not very warm and the sauce was space and stiff. None of the desserts seemed to be home made. For $19.99i would rather pay $10 more and drive a little further to gat a consistently outstanding brunch in New York state.

Good food, great service. The menu offers an excellent selection for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The wait staff is among the best in the city. The decor use the equipment from the old fire station--which is the building that houses the restaurant. Tables are situated so that it is easy to carry on a conversation. The bar is inviting--nice booths.
Every Sunday they offer an excellent brunch that includes both breakfast and dinner items.
This is a nice lunch time meeting place for people who work downtown. It is also a great choice for out of town guests. People love the fact that they are dining in a restored fire station.
