“Clean, Modern and Convenient”
Reviewed September 1, 2011

This is one of the newest hotels that has sprung up in this area. As such, the property is in very good shape. Check in went smooth. We had a 2 bedroom suite that perfectly accommodated 2 adults and 2 kids. There was only one bathroom with small vanity area, and only one mirror in the whole place, which seemed odd considering the overall size of the suite and the expectation that several people would be staying in the suite. But that is really my only complaint. The suite had 3 flat screen TVs, a fully furnished kitchen, and a large & expandable work area for the business traveler. There is a complimentary breakfast each morning, which was good but not great. Parking is also complimentary. The hotel is very convenient. It is on the campus of the Millcreek Mall and is only a block or two away from the entrance ramp to I-79. The newness and modern accents are what makes this hotel. I would recommend it.

I stayed at this hotel recently in a Studio Suite. The rooms all have a refrigerator, stove and other items needed for cooking meals and such, even the studios. This is very convenient for anyone wanting to save some money on dining out.

The location is right off of Interstate 79 and there are signs for getting to the location. It is right with the Fairfield Inn and one of the Hilton hotels. The Springhill Suites is across the highway. The location is in the one corner off the far end of the Millcreek Mall. This makes it very convenient if you want to take a quick trip over to the mall and there are a number of restaurants on the mall property, in the mall and just on the other side of the highway.

It was only about 10 minutes from the hotel to the water park and the beginning of Presque Isle Park, and downtown was just a few minutes away. The Maritime Museum close also, just down the Bayfront Parkway. Great to visit esp if the Flagship Niagara is in port.

The rooms were clean and fairly quiet, unless someone is running up and down the hall, which the hotel can't help. There is a pool and a small workout room available. I didn't use either of them. The hotel has 4 floors. There is a little market at the lobby area if you want to get any snacks or drinks. The cost was a little more than at a store. The wi-fi in my room was excellent and fast the whole time I was there. The TV has a decent amount of channels if you want to watch.

The breakfast was ok, but very crowded with families. They have waffles that you make yourself and then mini donuts and muffins and several choices for cereal. They also had yogurt and some fruit available.

I didn't think the towels were that great though. They were somewhat thin, but they did give me plenty of them. Also, the fan in the bathroom was noisy and comes on with the same switch to turn on the light. There was no way to stop that.

I would say that the hotel is a good place to stay for families and others who like having the kitchen facilities and a little more room available. The staff was also very friendly.

Newer hotel that is great for families. While some reviews are correct that the layout is a little odd, it's a small price to pay for a full kitchen on the road. We were upgraded to a two bedroom unit and, although the bedrooms are small, there was plenty of closet/drawer space. Good selction of channels on the TV, and a well-lit large work space if you're there for business.

Staff was very polite and efficient, from the maintenance crew, to front desk and housekeeping. The breakfast attendant was also great. All public areas were spotless. Only negative was the pool area. While the pool/hot tub are nce, the chlorine levels were so high just being in the room made our eyes burn. Not sure if it was too much chlorine, lack of ventilation, or both, but I've never had that happen. Still, not enough of a problem to reduce my rating.

Adjacent to a large mall that offers many stores and restaurants. About 3 miles to Presque Isle State Park, which is a very nice park with beautiful beaches, bike trails, etc. The beaches were clean and had spectacular views. Lifegaurds, concessions, clean restrooms...it's a great place to take the family. You'd never know you were on Lake Erie and not an ocean. Bike trails are also outstanding. Stop at Sara's on the way in or our for a fantastic hot dog and fries. It's apparently an Erie landmark that was very good. Overall, it's one of the nicest state parks I have ever seen.

Will defintely return to Erie, PA and the Towne Place Suites would be our first choice.

Room Tip: If your a Marriott Rewards platinum member, you'll probably get a room upgrade.

We spent 1 night here and thought it was great. On our cross country trip, a kitchen was just what we needed after too much eating out. The room was clean and the layout was efficient. Shopped at Wegman's for dinner (had never been before..WOW!) and had a nice evening. Only complaint...they use flat sheets for the bottom sheet...it was very loose and came undone..sloppy.

We used to always stay at country inn when visiting Erie because it was clear and they had a great/free breakfast. They were sold out so we tried TownePlace Suites 4th of July weekend and it was WONDERFUL. Everything is new, clean, they had a great breakfast selection. We did book on expedia and were dissapointed that expeida told us the room had a sleeper sofa, when it didn't, however the wonderful gentleman gave us a room that accomodated my family. The location is great, right by 79, the mall, and closer to the beach than country inn. This will by my new Erie Hotel!

We stayed here for one night on our way to Niagara Falls. Even though I used my points to book a room, the nice lady at the front desk upgraded us (w/o our even asking!) to a 2 bdrm. The room was amazing! This is a new hotel and the room, more like an apt. was immaculate. There were 2 nice sized bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. It was great! Definitely recommend this for a nice stay. Check out on google where it is before you go since it is in a shopping plaza and situated in the back, so you could miss it, if you don't know where to look.
