This was our first experience in a B&B. Steve and Wendy, Inkeepers, were warm, friendly and are very talented people. I loved the decore of the B&B. The breakfasts are the best anyone could ever experience! Wendy's homemade apple butter and apple bread just melt in your mouth. The landscape is breath taking and very well laid out.

It is our feelings that when we come back to the area in the future, we will definately come back and stay again.

Your hard work on the Inn definately shows, Steve & Wendy! Great Job!

Room Tip: The Traveler's room is cozy and you can over look some of the garden area. We received a tour o...

Absolutely incredible stay. We typically try a different bed & breakfast every month and have been to some really nice ones (including Sedona, New Orleans, Beaufort, and Arlington VT) and this beat them all - hands down. My wife and I had always wanted to visit Amish country and when we started researching it, we discovered there were about 72 bed & breakfasts in Lancaster County. We literally visited every website that was available for each of them and after hours of research, and looking at some really nice places to stay, settled on 1777 Americana Inn in Ephrata. The website was professionally done and the placed looked beautiful. Of course, we have been fooled before by well done photos only to find the actual location did not match up so naturally we were a bit skeptical. We were able to check their availability online and select the dates we wanted before paying with a credit card. Very easy to navigate through. The owner of the B&B, Steve, quickly followed up the reservation with an email to confirm that the transaction had gone through and they were ready for our visit. When we arrived, we were much relieved to find it was as beautiful in person as it was on their website. There was a spacious and private parking lot behind the Inn and of course, the parking is free. We were immediately greeted by Steve and his wife Wendy who gave us a tour of bed and breakfast and we were truly impressed with the authentic beauty of the place and the attention to detail that had been put into it. The rooms in the hotel were individually unique, full of character and beautiful. Behind the B&B was a converted carriage house that had been transformed into two private apartments with loft bedrooms/bathrooms. We had selected the 'Rustic Hideaway" and from the moment we entered the building, we simply did not want to to leave. The pictures on the website do not lie and it is simply amazing what they have done to create this private retreat. Our plan was to spend the first day exploring the the towns of Intercourse and Bird In Hand but we instantly decided we would rather stay in the carriage house. The downstairs had a living room area and a breakfast nook with a table and chairs. On the table there was a basket filled with snacks which came in handy after a long day in the car. Inside the antique armoire there was a microwave and a mini refrigerator stocked with bottled water. There was also a 60" television and a Samsung Galaxy Notebook complete with (free) Wi-Fi. In all my stays at other B&B's, I have never been provided with a Notebook - quite a classy touch. Halfway up the stairs at the first landing was the Jacuzzi tub. Check out the photos on the website for details. It was an incredible setting and one that's hard to describe except that it was really a romantic setting. At the top of the stairs was the bedroom loft complete with pillow top bed, a private bathroom/shower combo and in the closet, a set of plush robes. There was simply nothing that was not included or forgotten. As an example, in addition to normally standard items like a hair dryer and an iron/ironing board, there was also a packet of toiletries in case you forgot any items (including a toothbrush, razor and comb) and as another B&B first for me, a power strip cord on the dresser allowing us to plug in multiple electronics. After a restful night and a wonderful breakfast, we finally made it out on a tour of Lancaster County and would strongly recommend visiting Bird In Hand over some of the other more touristy places like Intercourse. When we arrived back at the Inn, we ran into Steve and Wendy in the dining room and spent the next hour 'making friends'. They are wonderful people, excellent hosts and personally dedicated to make each and every visit memorable. I have yet to run into more hospitable owners at a B&B.

It was not just another 'stay' at a bed and breakfast. Rather, it was an 'experience' we shall always remember and we plan on many future trips to the 1777 Americana Inn.
