The inn keeper recommended this restaurant as well as they received a decent Zagat rating.
My hubby and I both order steak dishes and, although the concepts and presentation were adequate, both our cuts of meat were extremely tough and gamey. His was a rib steak and mine, filet mignon. We were quite disappointed in our choices as other dishes seemed to be more pleasing to guests.

We had a gift certificate. I really enjoyed the decor. The food and service was good. I just think it is a bit pricey for what you get. We will try it again for a special occasion.

We eat at Lilys several times a year. The food is always fabulous, and the service great. The mixed drink menu is fun. the atmosphere is Art Deco. We particularly enjoy the view looking down on the town's Main St. during the holidays when Christmas lights are up. Just a lovely dining experience every time we go here.

The wine queen and I hosted her sister, aunt and uncle last weekend. The latter had raved about the place for some months now, so the visit was overdue.

We found the parking garage in the rear of the building to be quite handy. Getting into the building was a bit tricky as I recall. I do not remember the restaurant being noted on the door(s), and the door we chose did not seem to want to open at first. But the oldest of the group gave it an extra heave, and it popped right open for us. Otherwise it would have been quite a hike around the building for the senior citizens.

The restaurant is on the second floor, but the elevator got us there with no problem. We were wisked right in, having arrived at about 5:30 ... had reservations of course.

Service was fine. Several staffers attended our table. A bottle of wine, a lesser choice was $40. It was very good, and should have been for that price.

The varied menu fits in with the decor you'd expect at such a restaurant. Two or our party ordered a chicken based entree, and the third ordered the meatloaf. These were no ordinary entrees and looked worthy of the approximate $16 price. The queen and I ordered a dish which consisted of a grilled pork ribeye and three scallops wrapped in bacon and grilled. This all nested on a bed of garlic-mashed with a side of excellent green beans seasoned with what I take to be generous pieces of pimento. Very tasty! There was also a generous portion of a berry sauce on the plate for the pork ... and the scallops if one so chose. Excellent. If I had one complaint about the entree, it was that my port was over done. On the other hand, the queen's was just perfectly done. The problem seemed to be primarily that mine had a thinner portion that overcooked ... but in truth, it was also quite charred (read- burned) on a small section.

Each meal came with a small salad choice prior to the entree. A very good start.

The desserts looked wonderful. But we were having our desserts catered by one of our guests, and opted out.

Not counting wine, tip and tax, our 5 meals totalled about $100.00 But then, 3 of the 5 chose lesser meals. We chose mid range meals.

Visit, enjoy!

Our most enjoyable dining experience in the Ephrata area was at Lily's American Café. Our meals were delicious! Prepared to perfection and presented in the same manner. Definitely a return visit on our next trip to Ephrata.
