We have been regular visitors to Carr Edge for a number of years and it just gets better and better. On our first visit several years ago Val was not too well and Sandie just couldn't do enough for her. Sandie and Mike are wonderful hosts starting with a friendly welcome with Tea, biscuits and cake. The rooms are spotless with fresh milk provided. The breakfasts are absolutely magnificent with homemade (by Mike) marmalade and Jam. We can't praise Sandy enough - every little request is met with haste - how she keeps going is a wonder. We have visited many Farmhouse B and B's in England and Scotland - most of them good or very good -but none to better Carr Edge.

Gorgeous location near Hadrian's Wall. Reasonably priced and yes-- clean, quiet and serene. Will be back.

Carr Edge Farm is a hidden gem amongst the hills of Northumberland, fantastic views and excellent rooms. The breakfast was very tasty with plenty of choice.
We only stayed for one night after a family party and even though we live less than 25 miles away we have already booked again to go walking in the area.
I agree with everything said in previous reviews a perfect B and B

This was a really great place to stay, the landlady is so friendly! She helped us with our wet walking stuff and put it up to dry, and then served tea and biscuits, just what we needed. The room was great, very fancy shower. They also drove us to the pub for dinner and picked us up again (the pub by the way has a star chef). The breakfast was also great, lots of choice.
Only slight problem is that it's not easy to find from the wall path; there should be a footpath straight to it but this is not well marked.
