A superb choice for those on the A20, who are prepared to go exploring just a few km away. Warm welcome and well worth paying a little extra for the quiet rooms in the annexe overlooking the R Lot. All appear to have been recently refurbished and enjoy the convenience of being able to park your car right outside. Offered the half board option which represents a slight saving over buying the room/meals separately (unusual for Logis hotels). Surprised that high price stuff like sweetbreads and foie gras was included on the basic menu.Good selection of bargain priced wines, which is hardly surprising in this underrated area of France. Service prompt and friendly, as it was for breakfast the following morning which was adequate rather than stunning...though breakfast is never the highlight of a stay in a French hotel! Overall a really good option for an overnight stay or a base to explore the Lot gorges area.

Room Tip: Superior rooms look to be worth the 10€ supplement

This revue is based on our experience during our stay in early March. At the time the hotel was undergoing several fairly major jobs therefore not all of it was open.
We stayed in the Annex which is a modern building seperate from the main hotel with balconies overlooking the river from which we were able to watch the fish. The corridor leading to the room smelt damp and musty but the room itself was fine. The bathroom was a little tired and in need of some very basic maintenance (loose toilet seat, toilet cystern running constantly at times), in the afternoon the "hot" water was only just warm - but it was ok in the morning.
Having said all this the hotel is in a beautiful area and the staff are very friendly, despite their lack of English and our lack of French.
The restaurant was excellent and moderately busy even so early in the year.
We will stay there again - simply because the hotel is in such an interesting area, the staff are so nice and the food is so good.

This family run Logis is a great place to stay. The welcome was warm and friendly, the rooms well furnished and comfortable, the restaurant excellent and the breakfast fine. We had a room over looking the stream and it was delightful to hear the water running whilst glazing at a star lit sky. Our little dog loved the riverside walk along the Lot and we were able to stroll along the footpath before our evening meal. Vers is not far off the motorway system (approx. 7 km) and is a pleasant small country village. It's quite a spectacular drive from the A20 to the village and the gorges are incredible. There's plenty of parking at the Logis and English is spoken. My wife was so pleased with the stay that she wants to stay for a much longer period next time we venture to the Pyrenees. We both thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal - I choose the local Quercynoise menu and my wife from the Logis menu and neither were disappointed. The service was friendly and fast and the food wonderful. Breakast is self-service and traditional French which after the evening meal was more than adequate. It's a lovely venue for a stop-over or for a longer break with lots to see and visit in close proximity. If staying for more than one night we'd recommend a visit to the Grotte de Pech Merle which is only 15 mns drive away.
If you are really adventurous you can the black wine of Cahors - much too heavy for me. We'll be staying there again.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a river view

The restaurant offers typical regional French cuisine at very affordable prices. The simple but comfortable rooms in the new annex all have balconies or terraces, great for smokers. Excellent airconditionig, really necessary on hot days. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, very quiet at night, a perfect choice for a one-night stop-over, away from the noise of the freeway.

Be well advised to book demi-pension: it's excellent value for delicious local, authentic southwest cuisine with a warm, friendly welcome...and you might not get a table for dinner otherwise, as this hotel's bustling restaurant is justly very popular with the locals as well as travellers - booked solid the night we stayed.
For €130-odd we were given a comfortable standard room with a pleasant balcony overlooking the valley, 3-course dinner (drinks extra) and a fairly decent breakfast (as French continental breakfasts go): will definitely return here when next in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main hotel, were very satisfied with quality - and walking distance to restaurant/breakfast bar! Can't comment on quality of annexe rooms but it's possible they have a somewhat better view
