Description: To make reservations, please visit us on Open Table! Founded in 1996 the ideas for the Marblehead Chowder House were actually hatched a few years before. Sitting at "The Barnacle," overlooking Marblehead Harbor one raw winter day, while the spume from the rough saltwater painted the windows and the Sam Adams Lager flowed freely, a concept was born. Casual, coastal and cozy - fresh seafood, fin fish, shellfish and hearty chowders in a warm, relaxing atmosphere that says "seaside" - a place that had tradition, patriotism, and a New England heritage about it. Fresh ingredients, house-made soups and chowders, comfort food with a twist freshly prepared to order were all musts! Features unique to New England were the foundation - Ipswich Belly Clams (aka steamers, softshells, pissers), fresh Lobster Roll, a Raw Bar with half-shell oysters and clams and, of course, live Lobsters arriving regularly. Authenticity was crucial - only without the sea breeze, gulls and scent of saltwater. Lighthouses and other nautical decor highlight the ambience to create a coastal dining experience like none other in the greater Lehigh Valley. Our mission is to provide a great place for our employees to work, enabling them to prepare and serve delicious food in a warm, friendly and efficient manner. We want to assure you, our guest, of a memorable visit and encourage you to tell your friends and return often. Your satisfaction is guaranteed or we will make suitable amends.

“Great food and excellent staff!!”

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a vivacious, attentive hostess staff. Everything on the menu is by far the best seafood I personally have ever had. The lobster bisque is thick and flavourful, the crab pierogies are down right delicious, the crab cakes are full of crab and little filling, and the funnel cake sundae makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Not to mention the servers are knowledgable and personable, making the meal that much more enjoyable. By far the best restaurant in the Lehigh Valley!

“Excellent start to finish”

This restaurant is a treasure on William Penn Highway. This was our first visit, and it was all we had hoped for and more. Our server Jordan was very helpful in describing dishes, and she was so personable in making us feel comfortable. The food was excellent, and the deserts were out of this world. I had the triple chocolate cake, and it was so moist I couldn't resist it. Our seafood dishes were fantastic, and worth the price. Food is fresh, and prepared professionally. We will be returning many, many more times. Love this place !!!!

“Relaxing Dinner, Great Crabcakes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013

I've been to Marblehead several times and love to sit in the cosy bar area. The crabcakes are amazing and the steamed vegetable side is never overdone. The fish of the day is also a good choice. I'm waiting for winter to try the delicious sounding pot pies. For appetizers, oysters or shrimp cocktail are best. Sadly, the calamari is tough. Save room for desert because the whiskey bread pudding is worth it.

We were there for my husbands birthday. The service was great and the food better. Fresh seafood and great apps. We spent 2 hrs of adult time! I can't wait to go back again!

“Always Good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

The Marblehead Restaurant is the "Disneyworld" of Lehigh Valley dining. The food is always delicious and the service is top notch. Add in the promotions that save you a significant amount of money and you have a dining experience that leaves you with a smile on your face and a stomach that is satisfied. You will want to return and try something new--it is that good!
