We stopped by the bar one winter afternoon and had a few beers, plan on spending $4-$7 per beer. We happened to be back in the area one afternoon on the last weekend of July so we decided to stop in, sit outside, have a couple beers and lunch. Again the views of the Delaware River are great winter or summer, the beer was good (but I think expensive), however the food was absolutely the worst food I ever ate in my life! I can't even describe how terrible it was other than to say we literally threw it away, paid the check and swore to never go back. We had onion rings, french dip and a chicken cheese steak sandwich. The onion rings tasted as if they were left over from two days ago, deep fried a second time, then served to us. The french dip beef was hard, stiff, dry, just disgusting. The chicken cheese steak was crunchy and just awful. Overall the food was so bad it was literally indescribable. During our first trip to the Riverside Bar we met the owner and spoke with him. Seemed like a nice guy so we thought he should know about the product he is selling. We sent him an e-mail the day after our visit but we never received a response or more so an apology. If you're brave enough to go, bring a lot of money if you're only having beer, but don't waste your money on the food, it's the worst.

I was looking forward to going here because of all the good things I heard. I was horribly disappointed. The service was AWFUL. The waiter seemed like he had better things to do, spoke down to us and treated us like we were wasting his time. The food was mediocre. Not worth the price. Go somewhere else.

Typically places like this are more about the live music and bar scene, but Riverside is so much more. Great beers on tap, of course, and anything you can dream up at the bar! But also you can just relax and chat at a leisurely pace - there is no rush to get you out the door. We particularly enjoyed the wonderful riverside view and extremely friendly staff. We were amazed by how delicious the burgers are (not skimpy, high quality angus beef) and the beer-battered fries are heaven for anyone who likes to indulge from time to time! Lots of other food choices as well - from salads to wraps to pastas - the menu is elaborate! Riverside has events throughout the year and really is a treasure which happens to be owned and operated by people who grew up in and love the area - it shows!
