Nice and uncomplicated atmosphere, with friendly staff. The food was very good and the BYOB keeps the price down - a little. For two of us with appetizers, it was $90 with tip. I would have given the place a 5-star rating, but for one thing - the almost unavailability of low carb options. Nearly all the menu choices had breading or a sweet sauce and not much in the way of good healthy vegetables either. We had to bend our usual dietary rules to find something we liked. I had the clams and chorizo sausage appetizer, which was a taste explosion!, and the pork milanese, which was quite pleasant. My date enjoyed his calamari and panko & horseradish crusted salmon, although he said the horseradish was not evident, which was a bit of a disappointment. Overall, the meal was very good and we will go again, but I'd love to see some simpler choices with good vegetables.

We visited Megs and Mads for the first time tonight. What an outstanding meal/experience. The setting is unassuming, casual, and comfortable. You are greeted with a smile when you arrive (best to make resrvations as the dining room is small). We had the watermelon salad (excellent), beet salad (very fresh and beautifully presented), salmon and steak au poive special (both cooked perfectly and presented nicely). Had the opportunity to speak with Chef Steve as he was preparing other dishes - what a genuinely nice guy that truly cares about what he is creating and putting out for his customers (he even showed us how he made his milanese sauce for the pork while we were standing there!) The service that Jenna provided was excellent. Can't wait to go back!

Myself and three friends went to Megs and Mads. Two of the individuals chose from the restaurant week menu and two of us went al carte. The order of mussels, oysters and 2 heirloom tomato and arugula salads were delicious. The next course for the restaurants week diners ordered was a salad wedge with blue cheese and bacon dressing, also delicious. Two orders of the Kobe sirloin steak were tender and cooked perfectly, although all of us thought it lacked taste. The portion was a good size. The salmon with lobster and shrimp sauce was good although it was hard to find any bits of the lobster and shrimp. I ordered my favorite short ribs. What arrived were two tiny pieces of slightly fatty short ribs sitting over fancy grits. The portion was small, over priced and it tasted like a boiled piece of old meat. The presentation of all the dishes was lovely but you can't eat lovely. This restaurant is pricey and not always on target with what is served.

Fresh fish, imaginative specials, really good pasta. Make sure you bring your own bottle of wine. This is a romantic little restaurant but also good for families. They have a good children's menu and the pasta they served my daughter was good enough for the regular menu. The two waitresses working in there were the sweetest girls. They kept taking turns waiting on us. Only about 15 tables in here so a reservation would probably be best. Prices were a little high and it took a while to get our order but when you add in the friendly service, atmosphere, good food and attention to detail this place it worth it.
