“As Good As We Remember!”
Reviewed May 12, 2014

We were back visiting friends in the area. We lived nearby, but moved away 22 years ago. We had fond memories of Shady Maple, and were anxious to go back. We actually ate there twice - once for lunch on Friday and again for dinner on Monday (steak night). When we arrived, we were amazed. Back in the day, the restaurant was in a different location nearby, which is now a furniture store. The new location is huge. We were seated quickly and the 200 foot buffet line was explained to us. The food is the best country/Penn Dutch food you will ever eat in a buffet, and the selection is amazing. Even though it was quite crowded, it never seemed too difficult to get to what you wanted. Their roast beef melts in your mouth, the mashed potatoes are excellent, and the desserts are astounding. Additionally, there are grills that cooked burgers, chicken breast, hot dogs, etc. for lunch and steaks, etc. for dinner. The drink selection includes almost every non-alcoholic drink you can imagine. There is a small service charge added to your bill, but tips are not taken. What else can I say? It is as good as we remember, and we would highly recommend eating there.

“Dutch cooking and so much more!”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

The only place my 40year old son wanted to go for his birthday was Shady Maple. You get a free meal with another paying adult. Since his birthday fell on a sundayand the restaurant is closed on sundays, it was celebrated on Monday. This is their steak night, and he definitely wanted a good steak. We arrived around 4:00PM, a lot less of a crowd, then when we left at 6:30. My 2year old granddaughter's dinner was free also. The restaurant is enormous with everything from meat to fish fried and roasted and barbecued chicken, all kinds of salads, breads, fruits and desserts. The steak we all ate was rather thin and fatty for a delmonica, the baked potato unfortunately was not cooked enough for me anyways. The many vegetables advailable were very good, carrots, fresh green beans, broccoli , three bean sald, macaroni salad potato salad and creamy scalloped potatoes. My daughter -in-law is a vegan, so she found many items to eat and great rolls and cinnamon raspberry bread. Plenty of drinks, hot and cold .The chocolate mousse pie was delicious and my Isabella loved the cookies and make your own sundaes. The lemon meringue pie my husband said was outstanding and the three layered cake best ever. There were all kinds of dressings for salds and chow chow is a great local Lancaster County dish. The restaurant is open six days and breakfast from 5:00am to 10am.Its open 7:00am to 9:00pm all those days. There is another restaurant downsatairs next to the fantastic gift shop. My granddaughter loved all the stuffed animals and claimed a few as her own. I even bought my grown son, some sour cabbage patch candy, which he devoured as a child. This gift shop is worth a trip. Beautiful homemade furniture crafted by the Amish, jewelry, plaques and handmade toys and dolls. Just great to see. The Farmers market is down from the restaurant and full of great cheeses, meats, vegetables and fruit grown by the Amish. The fresh baked goods are so good to take home. If you have never been there please go!!!

“More food than you can imagine!”
Reviewed May 7, 2014 via mobile

We loved eating at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord.Though it is a bit pricey for a family - you will not leave unsatisfied. The food is fresh, attractive looking, and very good. The buffets are kept meticulously neat and clean. Our group enjoyed the huge selection of beverages. The "cook-to-order" grills were fantastic! Definitely a" must-visit" in Amish country. The gift shop is world class.

“A Buffet Fit For A King”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

Always a way point on our travels to the Lancaster area. Wonderful choices and very reasonable. Clean and very well organized. Busy hours are worth any wait time and when you are finished, go downstairs to a 40000 square foot gift shop; just amazing. Large seating area and never seems crowded. Clean restrooms too.

“Always Delicious & Plenty of Food”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

We visited here again this past week for a late lunch and a Saturday breakfast.
The meals were delicious and plenty to choose from. Restaurant is beautiful
and huge. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Lancaster county.
Restaurant is clean. Plenty of meats, veggies, fruits, salad bar, desserts,
hot and cold beverages which is included in the price of your meal.
If you go there for your birthday, you receive your meal free with ID.
They have a huge gift shop downstairs, you could spend hours in it.
