After a horrible snow storm in February/March, much of the county was left powerless and in disarray, trees down everywhere. The local parks and waterfall hikes have been closed for the year and are scheduled to reopen mid 2019

Have been to Child's Park many times. Decent amount of parking with bathrooms located in the parking lot. A few different trails with beautiful waterfalls. The best part is that this is a free park. Would definitely recommend!!!

A very nice park. Really good for a family to depend some time together while enjoying Pennsylvania beauty. Unfortunately I, due to the winter's the park is closed in 2018 until further notice.

Although the park is officially closed we ventured in for a short hike recently. The carnage of recent storms is fully evident with trees knocked down like dominos all over the park and, as yet, no clear-up operation in sight. It is still possible to navigate down to the wonderful waterfall BUT there is an obvious danger of further tree falls. Great care and good footwear required.
As we walked through the woods we came within 50 yards of a brown bear - at first I was relieved he was on the other side of the fence but then I realised the fence had been destroyed by the storm. Happily he wanted nothing to do with us and hurried off deeper into the woods.

Several winter storms have left major destruction of all areas of Childs Park and its 3 waterfalls. The NPS says it will take years to recover from the devastation.
If you are in the area Raymondskill Falls, 10 min drive, is open. It has paths, walkways and stairs to several waterfalls.

A great park for a hike and a picnic. I live right around the corner. Unfortunately, because of the 2018 blizzard that we experienced, the park is closed indefinitely.

Unfortunately the park is closed this summer due to the decimating storm but every childhood summer was spent here.

Lots and lots of waterfalls on a very easy hike. There are some roots and branches to climb over but nothing major. It's a great hike for young and old and you see a ton of waterfalls. My kids had a blast.

Parking fills up quickly.

This place used to great. Had two parking spots and a nice hike. But they recently redid it. Now it has one parking spot. All the way at the top of the trail away from the falls. They made it to accommodate people who come up from the city. After that it has missed its local charm.

The storm damage to this set of falls is severe. The park is closed. We ventured down the path a bit and saw trees down everywhere. They looked like toothpicks thrown around. They crashed onto the man made stairs and destroyed the gazebo that had been created on the Factory Falls side. On the Fulsom Falls side you could not get to the bottom of those falls and you could not continue down to Deer Leap Falls.
