I grew up along the Delaware River, spitting distance from Jersey and we had excellent pizza growing up. That really good, sloppy, tangy-sauced, stretchy-cheesed, chewy-crusted New York style pizza. Unfortunately, the farther you get from the Delaware, the worse the pizza seems to be until you get to Chicago. I've had pizza where the sauce tastes like red paste and the crust is more like a squishy English muffin, and why do people keep wanting to put cheddar cheese on pizza? Blech.
So, I was very excited to discover Millenium Pizza. They make the kind of pizza that you normally have to go to NYC to get. It's excellent. And its in Dillsburg, of all places. The sauce is tangy, the cheese is thick and stretchy and the crust is just right. Don't walk in expecting to find a cute little Italian restaurant. Millenium is a pizza joint. The oven is right up front and the tables and chairs can be a little rickety, but the food is sooo good it more than makes up for the lack of atmosphere.
