In fairness this is not an eat-in review. I stop by Al's once in a while and get a six pack (good selection) and a sub or pizza to go.The subs are decent but the pizza always seems to have a harsh taste to it, like the sauce sits on the stove top too long before they use it. But really my issue is with their incredibly slow service no matter what I get. This is not a place that can whip you up a sub to go in a few minutes like the other Al's. The place has a feel like it's going under and the staff doesn't care. If you don't get your order in a reasonable time, you should ask someone about it because it seems like they forget what they are doing half the time. Last visit there I ended up waiting 15 minutes for 2 semi burnt slices of pizza. Last straw for me.

Thank Thomas B

Average pizza shop food but be prepared to wait if you eat in. Delivery is always super fast though, hmmm.

We recently visited Al’s pizza and subs in Dillsburg, and it was a great visit! We had a variety of pizza, subs and wings. Everything was prepared the way we wanted it, served quickly, hot and fresh. The pizza was very good, with just enough sauce cheese and toppings. It was a thin crust pie with a zesty sauce. The subs we had were made on fresh bread, baked at the shop. They were not overly filled with meat and cheese, but they tasted very good. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The wings were a very pleasant surprise. We had the hot wings, they were crispy and served in a great hot sauce, flavorful but not too much. The restaurant itself has a warm welcoming atmosphere. There are big screen TV’s strategically placed for sports watching. Our service was good. The waiter was attentive and made sure everything was correct; drinks were refilled when we needed. It turned out to be a great visit and we will be back!

The food is pretty good, but the service varies on who the wait staff is. The menu has the basics for a pizza/sub shop. Pizza, stromboli and salads are good. The buffet is also a good quick choice.
If Sam is working, the service will be great. Otherwise, good luck.
