Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Geisinger Hospital. Check in was easy. Set up of hotel is a bit unique, lobby and restaurant are in one building while rooms are in 2 adjacent buildings. Has some resemblance to motel but rooms entrances were all in doors and definitely had nice appearance. Had king suite and double room, both rooms were spacious and well kept. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom and showers were functional. Parking was plentiful and no charge. Ate in restaurant and had room service. Room service was great, food quality was and service were both good as was eating in the restaurant. Service and attitude of the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. While there really wasn't much choice for places to stay in the area, i have to say the Pine Ban Inn does it well.

The entire staff of the Pine Barn Inn thanks you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear that our guests enjoy the services that we all work so hard to provide. It is especially gratifying to receive a 5 star review from someone who obviously travels frequently and stays in hotels throughout the country. Thanks again, and we hope you are doing well after your "visit" to Geisinger.

Obviously the Pine Barn Inn is outstanding if you require accomodations close to Geisinger Medical Center. On site restaurant is good. Recent expansion with large banquet facility. But the best is the staff has prepared a map of all the points of interest in downtown Danville which is a town of charm. So walking from the hotel to shopping, banks, etc is easy for visitors without cars. Pine Barn continues to be an important land mark in Danville.

Thank you for you positive comments. Pine Barn's location is unique amongst the lodging options in Danville. While all of the other properties are on the interchange three miles out of town, Pine Barn is on the Geisinger Medical Center campus, walking distance to the historic downtown, as well as the Susquehanna River and local parks and attractions. I will make sure the author of our hand drawn, not to scale but very useful map knows that he received national attention. Thanks again!!

The rooms are so small! the area it is located in is not within walking distance of any sites or good restaurants. Room I had was musty smelling, like mildew and the furnishings rickety.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at the Pine Barn Inn. The Pine Barn Inn, which was totally renovated in the past few years with high quality Kimball furniture, has many different types and sizes of rooms. For a minimal upgrade, much larger rooms are available. If you would choose to stay with us in the future, I would recommend our “300 building” with inside corridors and larger rooms. I have reviewed your comment with our executive housekeeper, and our staff will concentrate extra time on the rooms in the area of the property that your room was in. Again, thank you for your comments. While we prefer 5 star ratings, our guests comments are very important to us as they help us improve the services we provide.

I stayed here recently during bad weather while my husband was a patient at GMC. Certainly very convenient to the hospital. Room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Free wireless. Restaurant was relaxing with a good selection of well made food. My only complaint: one evening / morning was quite icy, the parking lot is quite hilly, and the walks between hotel buildings and the restaurant were not salted or cleared and walking was precarious.

Thank you for your positive review. The staff of the Pine Barn Inn takes great pride in our beautiful hotel and wonderful restaurant. I also want to thank you for pointing out that we did not salt the parking lot quickly enough during one of our recent icy mornings. This has been brought to the attention of our overnight staff, and they are being much more watchful as winter has really fallen on Northeastern PA.

Thanks again!

I stayed at the Pine Barn Inn for one night in December 2012 when I was visiting Geisinger for an interview. The staff seemed accustomed to having people traveling for work interviews, and offered to stow my luggage the day after my stay (while I was at my interview) and to allow me to change out of my suit following my interview in a lobby bathroom. My room, in the 300 building, was spacious, clean, quiet, and felt like it had been recently renovated. I ate dinner in the hotel restaurant; the food was decent and reasonably priced (particularly considering there seemed to be few other options in the immediate area). There was free wireless in my guest room and I learned when I checked in that there was a fitness room on the property (the fitness room had not been advertised on the hotel's website). I would definitely stay at the Pine Barn Inn if I return to Danville.

If you are a fan of privately owned (non-chain) businesses then you're in for a treat. The Pine Barn Inn truly pays attention to detail. The rooms are well apponited & decorated. Fresh fruit, coffee & tea in each hallway. A full service restaurant (great food) & rustic bar with fireplace. This place exceeds any Hampton, Comfort or Holiday Inn. They offer room service but do not have a pool. Location very convienient to Lewisburg (Bucknell), Bloomsburg, Rt.80 & Koebels.

Room Tip: 300 building is the choice, but all recently renovated

My husband scheduled outpatient surgery at Geisinger this November. As it is a two hour drive from where we live in Pennsylvania and Hurricane Sandy was hitting the area that week we looked for a place to stay in Danville the evening before. We discovered the Pine Barn Inn and booked it. It was perfect in every way. The room was very nice and was a five minute walk to the hospital for an early morning surgery the next day. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant which was not only delicious but reasonably priced. The restaurant also does breakfast and lunch as well and seemed to be a popular place to entertain guests for a nice dinner.
We would definitely book there again.

Thank you for your wonderful review. Many of our guests take advantage of our location on the Geisinger Medical Center Campus, with the short walk or free shuttle to the hospital. We hope to see you again in the future for a visit that doesn't include a stop at Geisinger!
