We ran away from Hurricane Irene as we have a baby and didn't want to risk losing power. Danville seemed relatively safe, so we booked here at the last minute. Fortunately, Irene's impact on NYC was overblown, and the folks at the Hampton Inn were wonderful throughout the weekend.

When we arrived early for check-in, the person at the front desk saw we had a baby ready for his nap, and asked housekeeping to prioritize cleaning our room first (a very comfortable 2-room suite btw). Throughout the stay, everything was pleasant, including breakfast, the room, the pool, etc. But the real kicker came at checkout - we decided it was safe to head back around 7:00 in the evening, and despite having spent all day in the room (well beyond the normal checkout time), they still didn't bill us for the second night - just an amazingly thoughtful gesture at a time of lots of chaos.

Not sure if I'll have a need to go to that part of PA again, but if I do, I'll definitely return to the Hampton Inn.

Room Tip: The two-room queen bed suite is great for families

Late night after a long drive. Getting chilly so turned on the unit near the window and was met with the odor of a wet dogs hair that had been near a fire, didn't dissipate for 45 minutes and meant we were chilly. Hotel Response - that normal . I guess the roach in the bathroom didn't like the odor either as he/she decided to move locations. Not a restful sleep.

Nice part s- only there for 7 hrs. Nice warm hearted lady in the breakfast room, made you feel good

Room Tip: if there are gopod rooms we are not aware

Booked this hotel for two nights during the week of forth of July. We visit Knoebels in Elysburg every summer and this year we decided not to take the camper. After reviewing all the hotels in the area and talking to family we decided to choose the Hampton Inn. Overall it was a very nice stay. Not too far from the park after a long day. I thought $189 was a bit steep for the area but the hotel was full. Check in was polite, the rooms were very clean and the bedding and beds are very comfortable. The free breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, eggs and sausage. The pool was clean as was the hot tub. This was probably the best Hampton Inn I have enjoyed in some time.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at the ends of the hall farthest from the elevators

I was there for a golf weekend with some friends. The Hampton Inn is right off the highway I-80 exit 224. Nothing much to note about but the hotel does it's job well. Courteous front desk staff and even more helpful and friendly breakfast staff.

Check-in was easy. Rooms are clean and well-stocked amenities. Sheets and duvet covers are (apparently, according to their own literature in the room) washed after each guest which makes one feel a little better. I've never heard other 4-star properties state that. I would give this a 3-star easily - perhaps 3.5. No complaints about the room except A/C was leaking slightly into the room - carpet under was quite damp, and the beds can be firmer, but that's a preference thing.

Complimentary breakfast was plentiful for a 3-star hotel, with non-boxed cereal, breads and pastries, choice of 3 juices, fresh waffles, oatmeal and a couple of varying hot items (eggs, sausage, french toast, etc.). Clean warm indoor pool - well-kept. Small exercise room. Complimentary local and USA Today newspapers.

Hotel provides directions to a short list of area restaurants - a couple of them (quite good actually) in downtown Danville on Mill Street: BJ Steakhouse and Pub, Old Forge Brewing Company - definite tries. Free Wifi with given code - a bit slow but workable for the typical short stay.

Very nice, very clean. Hotel staff is awesome. I would only suggest more outlets in the room. As a business traveler, we also need to recharge phone, laptop, etc. Had to un-plug items to be able to plug in. But over all a great place to stay.

My husband and I and another couple shared a room for the w/e in order to run the Riverstown Marathon. The hotel was right around the corner from the start and easy to get to the center of town for dinner, etc.
All in all it was a standard Hampton Inn.

Had a walk in coupon for reduced rate. One of the girls at the front desk was going to let me use it, but then another lady said no.She knew I had a reservation and wouldn't let me use the coupon. When I said I would cancel my reservation, which I could have done, she said they wern't accepting coupons at all this night. Would have left and went to another hotel but they all looked like dives.Too bad the lady at the front desk was such an $$s because other than that it might of been an enjoyable stay. Customer service goes a long way to repeat business!

Room Tip: use roadsaver coupons @ rest areas on I80
