“Nice, average stay”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

I stayed at this Fairfield Inn during a recent business trip in the Cranberry area. I typically prefer to stay at higher-end properties, but all other options were booked. I expected the worse, but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were small but clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it was a nice, average stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with our baby. The room was very small. There was barely enough space for the small playpen we brought for the baby to sleep in. The room was clean but dark. It seemed more like a cheap motel than a Fairfield Inn. Our room was never cleaned during the 2 days we were there, which is something I've never experienced in any hotel. We attempted to try the breakfast on both mornings we were there, but there was no place to sit either morning, so we left. It was adequate for sleeping but not really a great hotel experience. I doubt we'll be back.

We stayed for one night for an event in the area. Although the property looks a bit worn from the outside, we had a pleasant experience for a quick stop in the area. The front desk staff and staff at the complimentary breakfast were friendly and helpful. Rooms were standard size with small fridge and microwave. Bathrooms were a bit on the small side but just fine to meet our needs. The location is convenient to the turnpike and I-79 and the hotel is situated near restaurants (fast-food and sit down) as well as some strip mall shopping. The price was also reasonable.

Room Tip: The top floor (floor 3) has the least noise and is the only level with interior room entrances. Flo...

It's a bit old and has many rooms with outside entrances. It's clean and comfortable and convenient to the turnpike entrance and many good restaurants. Not bad to spend a night along the route. Will likely try another place on the way through next time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the third floor which has inside entrances.

Stayed here recently, was taken aback by the "motel" concept of the building, where the doors to the room are entered from the open air. Anyway, it was just going to be for one night, I said to myself, no biggie. I got to the front desk to check in, and there was one person, but she was already on the phone talking to someone about a future reservation. I waited patiently, as 6 minutes, then 7 minutes....finally after 8 minutes passed, her colleague came to the rescue! Yay!! So he says "I can help who's next", because at this point, there were 3 others behind me. I tell him my last name and hand him my credit card, and this is where it went really downhill from here.....the phone rings, and he answers it, and HE DOESNT ASK THE PERSON ON THE PHONE TO HOLD!!!! I mean, he is just talking away and he completely forgets about me! Wow. Two minutes pass, he's on the phone, and she's still on the phone......OMG! Finally, she gets off the phone, and he hands her my credit card, and she's just thoroughly confused at this point. She proceeds to check me in, but never says anything to me about my Rewards points and how I'd like to use them, which is standard operation for Marriott-owned front desk personnel. The whole thing was a disaster, really. I've gotta go back to the area next week, already put in a reservation at the Courtyard...much more expensive but I'll gladly take my chances there....couldn't be any worse than this experience. The simple point is, at least to me, that the most important customer is the person in front of you. OK?

I was supposed to stay at another Marriott property but my room wasn't held for late check-in as promised so I was sent to this hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I was on the third floor so it was more like a hotel. Rooms on the first and second floors are open to the outside. Seemed to be a lot of younger staying there but not too rowdy. Breakfast was fine.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third floor are more secure. Odd numbered rooms face east so you get morning sun. Too b...

I would never stay there again. You have to go outside to get in your room. This is a motel. The linnen is nice and the people were accommodating. The bathroom was so small that you had to leave it to change your mind. This is an old motel with new carpet. So noisy. When I checked on some lot noise, I opened the door and a bunch of snow blew in. I could hear the couple overhead having a happy time. This should be a motel 8 not a marriott. It should be $75/night. Not $125.
