We 3 stayed over a weekend in August and found everything to be "just right." Our daughter (27) stayed up in the loft, and we got the comfy king sized bed. The location was perfect, quiet, and walkable to town. The room was also immaculate, and the kitchenette very adequate for our needs. We will return!

When I first saw the Guest House advertised online I thought it was too good to be true. So, I emailed David and Gail to see what sort of reply I would get. I was so thrilled when they replied the next day and kindly answered all of my questions. When my husband and I arrived, our excitement grew even more because the photos of the Guest House are true depictions of how beautiful the accommodation really is. But what the website doesn't show you is how beautiful and private it is to sit on your own balcony looking through the tree tops and enjoying the fresh air. The accommodation is perfectly clean. The hosts couldn't be more kind or helpful while also giving you full privacy. The Guest House is completely separate from their house. The furniture is comfy and it's in a perfect location. There is a sports venue around the corner which I enjoyed jogging around and it's a gentle walk to the $4 movie theatre, Olga's Bar and Cafe and the main street of town.

This summer we spent about 3 days in and around the Potter County, PA area (God's country, they call it. That part of Pennsylvania is also referred to as the Pennsylvania Wilds - check it out). The place we chose to stay for two nights during our visit there was the Gail DuPont Guesthouse in Coudersport, PA, primarily because we wanted to experience something "local and different" as opposed to simply a chain motel.

It turns out that this was a wonderful choice. First, the value proposition was right on -- a good value for the dollar spent. Second, the guesthouse is the full second story of a building -- the first story is a hair salon, so, not only is the place very quiet at night, privacy (no other guests) is assured.

Upon check in, we met the owner and her husband Dave -- most wonderful folks, who, after checking us in and checking back once to make sure we were comfortable and didn't require any other services or had any questions, departed and were invisible until we were checking out and returned the keys.

The guest house is as advertised -- we have zero complaints and many complements. The room amenities were similar to an upscale hotel -- the king size bed was fabulous, the kitchen was stocked with coffee, frig, plates, toaster, silverware, etc., the bath was great, and most of all, sleeping in the cool mountain breezes was wonderful -- although air conditioning is available should it be needed.

All in all, 3 nice days and 2 nice nights there. Plus, should you need information about the local area, both Dave and Gail are more than willing to provide insights and suggestions. Should we return to the area in the future, it's our lodging of choice.

Room Tip: Only one room is available in the guest house -- it's a one-room guesthouse!
