Embassy Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh - International Airport
Ranked #1 of 11 Hotels in Coraopolis
Reviewed March 19, 2012

What a treat this was to arrive at the Embassy Suites after driving 7 hours. Th front desk staff were pleasant and helpful and the place was beautiful inside. I could not peel my kids away from watching the fish in the ponds inside the building. The complimentary breakfast was great and had a great variety of food. We left our vehicle at the hotel and used the shuttle to go to the airport. The shuttle service was absolutely wonderful and they were very timely to pick us up when we returned.

We recently stayed at the Embassy Suites near the Pittsburgh Airport. We have stayed there previously in the past, but I never wrote a review for it. This hotel is a great place to stay if you are traveling (its very close to the airport and they provide transportation to the airport), it's a great place to stay for shopping as the town of Robinson which is a shopping "city" is only about a five minute drive away, and it's a great place to stay if sightseeing in Pittsburgh is on your agenda. It's about a 20 minute drive into downtown Pittsburgh. This hotel is very nice. The rooms are nicely furnished and seemed up to date. The staff at the front desk was exceptionally pleasant. When we arrived, they accommodated us with a corner room upon our asking. As all Embassy Suites provide, the managers reception was a nice treat and the made to order breakfast is one of our favorites. A great opportunity to start your day with a filing breakfast. There is a pool area which the kids love, but beware, the hot tub is outside which makes for a very "cold" trip back inside during the winter. There is ample parking on site. The atrium is very nice and there is a small pond area with fish. Ask at the front desk in the morning and they will give the kids a cup of food to feed the fish which was a nice treat for the kids. This is one of our favorite hotels to stay at when in the Pittsburgh area, and again on this recent trip, it didn't disappoint.

Room Tip: We asked for a corner room which seem to be a little further away from the "noise" at nigh...

The rooms in this hotel face inward toward the cortyard which has lush green plants and water in it. It can be a tad noisy if there are annoying people in the cortyard who do not care what time it is. The manger's reception is nice but is ONLY light appetizers. The fitness center is small and could use a little TLC. The best was the breakfast with it's options of getting a made to order omlet. We went to breakfast real eary on a Sat morning so it was not crowded art all.

Its an Embassy Suites. These places are usually pretty predicable / reliable. This one had the same setup as others but it seems darker and not quite as friendly inside. The rooms were exactly like every other Embassy (which is what I want). I was annoyed with the fitness center - it was way too hot, the TV's on the machines were broken and it was in a awkward space with only two treadmills and one elliptical. Food was good as it always it. I wouldn't suggest anyone not stay here if you're looking for Hilton points BUT I wouldn't go out of my way for this joint.

We had a nice stay at the Embassy Suites on a busy Saturday night. The hotel is very pretty, but could use a little TLC. We enjoyed the pool, which was well maintained and had plenty of towels. There is an outdoor hot tub, which was fun to use during a snowstorm. We attended the managers reception. The staff was great, but you had to stand in a pretty long line for a drink and it was one per person per time in line. The food was LIGHT appetizers- veggies/dip, cheese and chips. It was complimentary and the reception was 2 hours, so all in all- was appreciated. There is a family friendly restaurant- Armstrongs, about 1/2 mile from hotel which is an inexpensive, but great bistro, its BYOB though. Parking was a big issue when we returned from dinner as it was a busy Sat night. No spaces could be found. We parked at an office next door and told the front staff who shrugged and said, maybe we could go back outside at 10 pm and hope spaces are open so we can move our car and HOPE that it does not get towed in the mean time. The breakfast was the one thing that could use improvement. The lines were long for the buffet, the food was not great and the tables were scarce. The bright side to breakfast was a very pleasant wait staff.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel many times. We have celebrated weddings and birthdays here and have never been disappointed. We stayed here feb 11th in the upgraded suite and it was awesome. The hotel staff is always kind and courteous. The managers reception was nice as well as the bartender who was happy and quick. The room was clean and the bed is so comfortable. The staff has a great way to be there when you need them yet they are not in your way and leave you to your privacy. We requested plates, glasses and silverware and it was brought up to our room within five minutes. We started bringing our kids here for birthdays when they were little and now they are all adults and we still meet here for a good gathering. Have stayed at other hotels and this hotel offers alot for the rate when you can catch a good deal on the rate.

The hotel was certainly a top choice in the area about 20 yrs ago. It is still well maintained and clean but the hotel is certainly showing its age. The rooms are large with plenty of space. It's close to the airport which gives it an advantage. The one area of the hotel that could be improved on is the cleanliness of the breakfast area. The made to order omlets were good but the breakfast bar and tables needed to be cleaned.

The staff was friendly and courteous. Overall a descent place to stay if you have an early or late flight into or out of Pittsburgh.
