“"You won't want to leave...."”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

Our extended family recently rented the chalet for a cozy holiday gathering. Before arriving Robin warned us that there are plenty of activities to do in the surrounding communities but "most people find that once they get here, they don't want to leave". And she was right. We came for snow activities but ended up filling our days with games, reading and good eats...all in front of the fireplace.

The accommodations were ideal for our crew. The architecture of the chalet is very nice. The decor featured a delightful collection of art that was enjoyed greatly by the artists in our family. The kitchen was well stocked with the usual pots, spoons, bowls needed for cooking.

We couldn't have found a more appropriate place to stay. All of us commented about wanting to come back some time when we could enjoy warmer weather for outdoor exploration of the bike path, wood trails and river activities. Also looking at it as a family reunion spot that would accommodate both camping and inhouse sleeping options

Highly recommend!

We first found out about Paddler's Lane in 2011 after our son and new daughter-in-law gave us and our son's new in-laws a two night stay at the Chalet. With that trip we learned about the camping area at Paddler's Lane and camped there this past Labor Day Weekend. Each of our experiences were fantastic! Dan and Robin are excellent hosts and very accommodating. Their facilities are spotless and very well maintained. So after two very good experiences we decided to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day with our family in the House at Paddler's Lane. I'm writing this on New Year's Eve with very fond memories of this most recent stay. Once again, Dan and Robin did not disappoint us! The house was appropriately decorated and somehow they even managed a little snow to make our Christmas a white one. The large fireplace in the common room made for a couple of cozy days and evenings. Oh there were a few trains that went by periodically, but the House (and Chalet) are so well insulated for sound you could barely here them. Thanks so much you two, we will be seeing you again in the summer for a camping trip or two!

My wife and I stayed here in early October. We had a great stay. Dan was a great host and the spot is so beautiful. We used the inn as a starting point for lots of day trips to Falling Water, Kentuck Knob and beyond. It worked beautifully. By the way we didn't mind the trains...the room we were in muffled much of the noise and there was something nice about it.

The facilities are very clean and well kept and we enjoyed sitting around in the kitchen talking with Dan. Thanks much! Chuck and Dena

Paddler's Lane is a truly beautiful place to stay. Dan and Robin are excellent hosts, funny, kind, and welcoming. I have been coming to stay in the area since childhood, and it is the most amazing place in the area. Very cozy and welcoming. The river is extremely close by as are several hiking trails and a wonderful town. I would recommend it to anyone, especially during fall when all of the leaves are turning or during summer when there is rafting and kayaking!

We recently had the opportunity to once again visit the Confluence and Ohiopyle areas, staying at the Paddler's Lane B&B which sits directly along the river. Our stay was very quiet (other than an occasional train which goes by the property about a 100 feet away), we had nice fires in the living room everynight and the innkeepers prepared two tasty breakfasts for us during our stay. During that time of the year most of the area restaurants are closed for the season so one must travel 10-15 miles to reach other dining places. We were carrying our bicycles with us this trip so we were able to easily get on the Allegheny Passage trail and do some nice Fall riding. We had a good time conversing with the innkeepers during our stay and we will surely return to Paddler's Lane on future visits to that very scenic area of Pennsylvania.

Room Tip: The train line is relatively close to the property and it carries fairly long freight trains through...

Excellent accommodations and great value for the price. My wife and I led a fall retreat for the church to spend the weekend in the mountains of Pennsylvania along the Youghiogheny River. Awesome weekend! House and Chalet were very nice as base camp for biking and hiking all around the area.Nice rooms in both house and Chalet with real wood fireplaces in the living rooms. If you are a paddler or fisherman, great place to stay right along the river. Owners have the laid back river vibe. Paddler's Lane is more suited for the outdoor adventurer's that do not need pampered or perfection for every little thing. Only negative, close to the train tracks and light sleepers will want to wear ear plugs at night.

Room Tip: Loft is awesome for a bunch of kids or teenagers that want space away from the old folks.

This was my first time staying at Paddler's Lane Bed & Breakfast, I enjoyed myself very much. The location is perfect for hiking & other outdoor activities. I was very impressed with our with room and the hospitality we received. I would love to stay there again when we're in the area.
