This was my first time staying at Paddler's Lane Bed & Breakfast, I enjoyed myself very much. The location is perfect for hiking & other outdoor activities. I was very impressed with our with room and the hospitality we received. I would love to stay there again when we're in the area.

I have been a guest at Paddlers Lane 3 times and have enjoyed my visit each time. Just sitting and relaxing, reading a book, talking to Robin and Dan, they are very interesting and are happy to make your visit a pleasure. The breakfast is amazing and the company very nice. The trains add to the pleasure of this unique vacation home. Robin's pottery has helped me pick some very nice gifts. Dan makes it his main interest to make sure you are enjoying your time in their home.
The food is excellent, served with good company and fun. There are so many things to do in this area of Pennsylvania, Robin and Dan love to tell you everything available to you while you are in this lovely area. Good eating places near by, you also can make use of their kitchen.

Room Tip: All rooms are great. air conditioning, private bathrooms, tv, able to use your computers. Queen siz...

Great place for a quiet getaway. Room was very clean and comfortable. Dan is a great host and oustanding cook. Location is perfect for access to bike trail and local attractions. We hiked the trail near Ohiopyle and toured Fallingwater. Nearby restaurant "Lucky Dog" had good food and nice outdoor seating.

Very nice accommodations, guests given great access to kitchen. Owners stay in separate building. Dan was a gracious and helpful host. We probably would not return because we like our window open at night and on the first night there were at least 6 trains so felt our sleep had been very disturbed (even with no problem getting back to sleep. Second night was much better due to fewer trains.

I do wish we had been informed of the disruption to sleep for these guests. We would have been glad to close the windows or to point out complimentary earplugs left in each room. Any guests who find the noise of the train disruptive to their sleep generally prefer to sleep with the window closed and enjoy the central air and heat of Paddler's Lane. Paddler's Lane is an exceptionally well insulated house and outside noise generally stays outside, but if the windows are left open in the evening you will hear any and all of the surrounding outside noises. We find that only about one in thirty people actually use the earplugs, and some of those use them for a welcome respite to their partners snoring rather than outside noise! We are located on a very rural private road. The constant drone of traffic or the roar of semis blowing by that you may be used to will not be a part of your day. Instead, this time of year, you will have the constant movement of the river in your back yard, the rooster voicing his wake-up call, the whistle and rumble of a passing train, and the wind finding it's way through the trees. In the summer months humming birds add to the noise and the drone of cicadas is often a companion during the later summer and fall months. If you open your window at night you will hear all of these sounds.
Typical of most of the world’s larger rivers, our Youghiogheny is joined for most of its’ length by a set of train tracks. The train is a part of life on the river and should be thought of as such. It should not hinder your enjoyment of your surroundings. The great majority of our guests don't feel that the trains are detrimental to their overall experience. (Many of them join us because they are intrigued by the train! ) We think that you will agree. Or close the window.

During our vacation we decided to visit falling water and stay at Paddlers Lane. The Inn Keeper is very friendly and flexible. We actually had to push our arrival date by one day and a simple phone call took care of the issue. It also helped that we were traveling during the week and the house was not booked. The house very clean and nicely decorated. It was like spending the night at home. The bathrooms are very nice and we just loved the towels. We actually asked where they were purchased. Robin and Dan did so such a good job that we did not feel like visitors in a strange home. Robin stopped in the evening and we chatted for a moment. She was getting ready for a show. We watched some TV and went to bed. My son loved his little hide away bed. Our bed was very comfortable and relaxing.

Due of a bridge problem Dan was not able to get to town in the morning to get more eggs. The detour was 45 minutes each way. Dan made us French toast and it was great. Some of the best meals we have had have been improvised. My son loved the French toast and we wondered why we have not made French toast. We are breakfast people so we added that to our options. Breakfast was really good and we enjoyed Robin and Dan’s company. We chatted for a short time. Robin wanted to meet our son before she left for a show.

We stayed just before the Family Reunion group and Dan was hard at work making sure they were ready for the whole house rental. There review shows that Robin and Dan are good at what they do.

We are definitely going to go back since we did not get to Falling water and there are some water activities that we want to definitely do.

Bring some extra money when staying here because Robin is an artist and there are quick a few decorative items that are for sale like paintings, cups, mugs dishes and more.

There is very little cell signal in the area. AT&T does not work in the area. The house does have a DSL. It’s not the fastest but for work well for what we needed.

Booked a Sun-Mon night getaway for my wife and I to check out the Great Allegheny Passage. Decided on Paddler's Lane after looking for places in both Ohiopyle and Confluence. Rates were pleasantly cheaper here. The house is clean, comfy, and well maintained by Dan, the friendly innkeeper.

Confluence is a sleepy little town compared to "tourist" busy Ohiopyle. If you want some nightlife, you'd better stay in Ohiopyle. If you want some peace and quiet, stay in Confluence. There are only a couple of dinner restaurant choices in Confluence, so you might consider making some of your own dinners in the well-appointed kitchen.

The inn is actually just outside of town, but far enough that walking into town for dinner is not really an option. This also applies to GAP trail access. We rode our bikes to/from the trailhead, but some might not be comfortable traversing the one-lane roads necessary to get to town.

The Inn is very close to the train tracks and the train runs regularly, but we weren't bothered by the noise.

There are also a bunch of "honor box" campsites right there on the property. No hookups, but there is a nice bathhouse. Maybe we'll bring our tent next time.
