My wife and I have stayed at Steppingstone B&B several times. We loved it our first time there, and the setting just keeps getting better every visit. Lots to do: bicycling, rafting, canoeing, hiking, or just kicking back and enjoying the evening backyard fires. The owners are nice as can be and after a few minutes with them you feel like you've known them for a lifetime. They know pretty much everything about the area and are always only too pleased to help you find the area attractions.. If you happen to be a train buff, the site is close to the famous CSX "Sand Patch" grade from Connellsville to Cumberland. I've been to numerous bed and breakfasts around the U.S. - this one is top notch.

Great place to get away! Very country feeling, from the farm, to the homemade breakfast, to the camp fire at night and the flower couches. I liked stepping into something different than our modern home. I even liked seeing the train go by! It feels like you time travel to the past! Kids can run around and play with their friendly dog (Harvey), see the farm animals or use the swings.

We rented the appartment/suite, which gave us more space and allowed us to cook at night and save money on food. Located near the bike trails and close to Fallingwater and rafting. The owners are very nice and will make you feel at home. They will give you good tips on what to do in the area. Ask them about all the places they travelled to, fascinating! If you have Sprint, be aware that there is no cell phone reception in the entire area! But if you need a phone, the owners will let you use theirs without problem. A great place to relax!!!

My bike buddy and I stayed with Stepping Stone (Vicki and Larry) and we felt really taken care of. We arrived dead tired, cold, and wet. Our rooms were very clean, well appointed, and overall very comfy. We called Larry from Confluence and he came and collected us. We were able to leave our bike gear in a secure location at their town laundromat (they own it.). So we only had to bring our change of clothes and a few other things. They took us back in the morning. Vicki made an awesome breakfast in the morning. Want eggs? They have their own hens. Like fresh fruit? Berries in the back, Veggies? Check out the garden.

remember, this is a guesthouse. So, don't be shy and expect to be quarantined away from people you don't know. There was a couple on their anniversary also at Stepping Stone. They were really nice. depending on what rooms you get, you may not have a private bath. Live and let live, and people are usually very generous around you. Also, Stepping Stone is in the country. NO TV AND NO CELL PHONE SERVICE. The Rempels phone is available anytime.

It really is situated on a beautiful plot of land. And the trains (my 6 AM wake up call!) only add to the aura. Enjoy it!

We have been regulars at the Stepping Stone Farm B and B for over 5 years and can't sing enough praises about the place!

The owners, Larry and Vicki Rempel give everyone a warm welcome, complete with any and all information on current events in the area.

The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, and privacy respected. After a day of cycling, kyaking, or whatever you choose to enjoy, a campfire awaits you. And if you are lucky, a train my go by or a satellite will swim past the stars above.

In the morning you will awake to the roosters and the smell of coffee. The eggs are compliments of the Stepping Stone chickens, and the homemade waffles are thanks to the innkeepers who are also cooks extraordinare.

We stayed at Stepping Stone Farm Bed and Breakfast while spending a little time in western PA to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water and Kentuck Knob. The B&B is about 20-30 minutes from both those sites, in a lovely pastoral setting. The area has lots to do for outdoors enthusiasts -- bikers, hikers, and rafters -- and Stepping Stone Farm is definitely used to catering to that crowd. They even have directions to their place from the bike path!

When we arrived at the farm, we were greeted immediately by the Rempel's two dogs. In addition to the pups, they also have several bunnies (that live in an outdoor hutch), three goats, several chickens, and a rooster.

We spent the evening sitting out in the backyard with Larry, one of the owners, and the two other guests who were staying at the place. It was very dark out there and the stars were absolutely amazing -- we even saw a couple of satellites.

The farmhouse feels very much like someone's home, comfortably cluttered and definitely lived in. We stayed in the Blue Hemlock Room, the only room upstairs with its own bath -- just be sure to lock the door that goes to the hallway! The 3 or 4 other rooms upstairs share a bath. The decor was not exactly my style, and the bed was a bit too soft for our taste, but we were basically pretty comfortable. The Rempels provide each room with earplugs, because train tracks run quite literally along the edge of their backyard. I'm generally a light sleeper, so I used the earplugs, and I could still hear the trains at one point. To be honest, it really didn't bother me that much, but I could see how some people could be disturbed by it. Although the B&B is in the country, it's NOT quiet. In the morning, we were awakened by the sounds of an oil truck in front of the house, too!

Breakfast was sausage and crepes with an array of topping options -- homegrown raspberries, apple sauce, fruit & yogurt, and whipped cream. I was fine with it, but my husband, who doesn't like to eat fruit any way but in their straight-up, usual form was not that excited about it.
