“Not the best choice”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

We stayed at The Confluence House for an overnight visit to the area. The "reception" was not very friendly or welcoming. The accommodations were clean and the overall house was well-kept, but that is the best I can say. The hostess/owner at breakfast seemed overwhelmed and somewhat put upon. The whole vibe was the opposite of relaxing. A little music would have gone miles to soften it up and make it less sterile. Or perhaps they need some help in the kitchen? Overall, it was very disappointing and I wish we had stayed at a different place.

A friend and I stayed here a few weeks ago and we really enjoyed our stay. Sandy is a great cook and a hard worker. She is very knowledgeable and quick to give advice about the area. The B&B was clean and easy to get to from the trail. I would return.

Room Tip: We stayed in the attic, it was comfortable and clean.

We really enjoyed the Confluence House - and it was a really convenient place for a visit to Fallingwater. We had a charming room / suite in the attic of the house. The best thing was the breakfast. My partner is a vegetarian and they made a fantastic vegetarian omelette with lots of fresh vegetables they grew in their garden. I would highly recommend this place.

We took a quiet weekend bike trip and stayed at The Confluence House. Sandy was right there when I first walked in. We relaxed on the back patio and then she tok us to our room. The room was neat and clean. We both took a nice hot shower which felt terriffic after biking all day. We went out for breakfast, but when we left, the dinner that Sandy was making smelled so good we will make reservations to eat with her next time. The breakfast of Eggs Benedict were exquisite. We left shortly after. We would definately recommend and look forward to our next trip.

Quiet Confluence has quite a Gem hidden in the Confluence B&B. The special dinner served in several courses was a delight. Breakfast with many active outdoorsy people has enticed us to come back next year to do the bike trail....

We just stayed here on our bike trip from Cumberland to Pittsburgh. The inn is lovely, the rooms are immaculate, and meals are taken around a very elegant communal table in the dining room. It was a real pleasure to meet the other guests and to exchange experiences and biking tips. Given the limited dining options in Confluence, we decided to take our chances and have our dinner at the Inn. It TOTALLY exceeded our expectations -- gourmet all the way, from the stunning appetizer plate to the last crumbs of desert. Even better, we were given a choice of entrees and were able to order our main courses in advance. All of the ingredients were top quality, fresh and local. Sandy also stocks a good, but reasonably priced, selection of excellent wines. Don't know when she sleeps because we were greeted with an extensive, fabulous cooked breakfast the next morning -- pancakes, omelettes, sausages, bacon, the works. Can't recommend the inn, the cuisine, or the hospitality more highly!

Old, creaky house gives it a fun appeal (but you are not going to creep in). B&B plus dinner was excellent. Confluence closes the doors early so make sure you book for the gourmet dinner with the hostess.

Room Tip: Two rooms have ensuite, Two share a central bathroom. Pick accordingly.
