After biking in the mud on the C&O and GAP trails for several days, my group of 5 stumbled into the Confluence House. One of our party was getting ill. Sandra welcomed us with fresh baked cookies and wine from her on-premises shop. She took excellent care of all of our needs--great food, directions to a local doctor, shuttles to see near-by Falling Water, and elegant common areas to visit and relax. The rooms are well decorated. The beds are comfy. Although the B&B is located on the main road through town, we did not hear a single car pass after 8 p.m. It is very quiet.

Sandra also is a great cook. Try the braised beef. Yum!!

This is definitely a respite for bikers on the trail. We loved it and will return.

The Confluence House provided us with an excellent stay while riding the GAP Trail. We had a room with a king size bed on the top floor which was very nice. The bed was very comfy, and we had lots of extra room, with a small sitting room and another small room with a smaller bed. The bathroom did not have a shower, but had a nice bath tub which was fine.

There was a nice screened porch in front where guest gathered to chat about their experiences. And the breakfast was delicious, and allowed for more chatting with the other bikers and non-bikers. They had a garage to store bikes, and an attached wine shop, which may be the only one in Confluence.

Stayed here overnight after biking 80 miles up the GAP trail from Duquesne. Very charming house. Great facilities for cyclists. Plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed. Close to excellent dining. Delicious breakfast. Good-natured hostess. Wonderful place to recharge before hitting the trail again. Thanks, Sandy!

Room Tip: Get a room that faces the back yard rather than the street. Probably less noise if the windows are...

Sandy and Fred were terrific. The B&B was quaint and very clean. Everything went as hoped. Breakfast was good. I just don't know how things could be improved. My friends and I stopped here while riding the GAP trail. A secure storage garage was available for our bikes and gear. I felt totally comfortable there. In fact, I would like to return to the area, stay here, and see some of the area sights. I highly recommend Confluence House, whether you are in the area or for a romantic getaway.

The Confluence B&B is the place to stay while visiting the Laurel Highlands -- it's a lovely Victorian home that's been nicely restored, and is close to the center of town; everything is within walking distance, and the beds are really comfy. But what makes this place unique is the owner/operator, Sandy Younkin. She is a delightful person with terrific stories (just ask her about her bear encounter). PLUS she's a chef and may be the only source in town for a truly fabulous custom-made dinner for you and your traveling companions. For a very reasonable price, Sandy will create a three-, four-, or five course gourmet meal (with your choice of entree) that's unbelievably delicious and definitely filling. Her brother runs a small wine boutique attached to the house where you can taste several wines and choose one (or two) for dinner. And this is all in addition to the fabulous breakfast included with your room price. We were four adults in a family and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Truly a find in this beautiful part of PA.

Room Tip: The house is on a main road, and the rooms in front have the private baths, while the room at the re...

We enjoyed our stay. Sandy was very nice and made us a terrific breakfast. Confluence is a small town and we were too early for the "season" so didn't have restaurant choices.

The Confluence House is a super clean, and historic old B and B very close to the GAP trail on the Yough river. It has a nice wine shop in the back for a great bottle of wine for your stay, and a garage for your bicycles if you need to store them. Sandy is a super chef, the food there is fabulous!! We have met great people there from all over the world! You will not be sorry you stopped in to visit this place, and just like my wife and I, you will probably be back soon.

Room Tip: They are all great in their own special ways
