We stayed at the Parker House on our way through Confluence while riding the Great Allegheny Passage. This was not the first time that two of the folks in my group had been there, and apparently the problems they had the first time were not an aberration. First of all, this is NOT a B&B. The owner informed me that this was a "guest house" so don't expect breakfast. Second, they seem to have communication issues between the husband and wife owners. On both occasions the husband made the reservations or arrangements but the wife was the only one that showed up and wouldn't honor what the husband had set up or didn't care that the reservation wasn't right. When we arrived the house was locked and no one around. We were on time and the sign on the door confirmed it. We had to wait until the owner got around to coming over. They don't stay on the premises, so once she checks you in you're on your own. There is no sheltered or secure storage for bicycles. They will loan you a lock, but your bike will sit outside in plain view and bad weather. It rained hard the night we were there. The house is nice, the bed was comfortable, but the attitude reflects "we're the only game in town so take it or leave it". Thankfully there are now a few other options in Confluence and the next time I travel through there I'll be trying one of them.
