So my husband and I had this place booked for an awesome getaway weekend. She told me on the phone that if we were to cancel to give them 48 hours notice. We were told that if they could rebook the room they would refund us our money....$300 charge for a ONE NIGHT STAY...and the owner calls me and SCREAMS AT me...my husband could hear her across the room. DONT GO HERE ...HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!

better business bureau claim filed!!!!

Beautiful stone manor with oversized rooms, comfortable beds with top quality bedding, luxurious bath products, lots extra towels available. Breakfast in the morning cooked to order, good restaurant open weekends only. New Year's Eve was wonderfully low key - a great meal, bonfire, and champagne. Not the place to go to if you are looking for a big party scene. Innkeepers/owners Ed and Sam (his wife) warm and welcoming, and Mary the daytime staff took care of us like her own children. Apparently the facility has one-zone heating and the rooms were somewhat chilly, so dress warmly. Discount passes to local Elk Mountain.

This bed and breakfast was just what we were looking for. My husband and I were looking for a romantic getaway. Somewhere private, comfortable, and historic. We wanted to go skiing as well. The Fern Hall Inn was everything we wanted. The house is gorgeous and has a great story behind it. They have stayed true to the time period and have restored it beautifully. Elk Mountain is only seven miles away and has great skiing. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Great food, great atmosphere, great price. My only complaint was that the rooms were cold...bring your flannel pj's! But the service and the ambiance more than make up for that. Thanks Ed and Sam for the wonderful stay!

This B& B has all the charm and coziness and grandeur of landscape outside with delicious scents and aromas permeating t the halls and lounge area which has a small but well stocked bar with relaxing music. in the evening at cocktail hour is great around the wonderful large fire place in the restaurant-lounge area..
The beds are comfortable and the property beautiful. The food was excellent, including an evening of guest chef who prepared an exceptional 5-course menu with local ingredients.

We would definitely recommend this as a charming escape for anyone looking for quiet relaxation in a lovely area half way between Philadelphia and New York City.
Great Hosts- Ed and Sam who seemed to be there constantly to cater to any whim or need that arose. .

5-stars! Thanks again. Wonderful place to stay. Everett

My husband and I chose this country bed and breakfast for a First Time "Thanksgiving Getaway" We needed a retreat from cooking and cleaning ... a get away from the hustle and bustle...
We were able to make arrangements with a few close friends to join us.
It turned out to be a great idea.. and maybe a new Thanksgiving Tradition.
Our rooms were spacious , charming and comfortable. Fresh water and fresh baked cookies in our room when we arrived was an unexpected treat.
Thanksgiving Dinner : Turkey and all the trimmings was especially enjoyable .. served in front of a huge fireplace .. candles burning through
out the dining room and bar ... ambiance , ambiance, ambiance... and my husband actually got to play nine holes of Golf because the weather
was mild.
A great time had by all.

We stayed at Fern Hall as the second night of an Inn-to-Inn bike trip. Arriving after a 25 mile bike ride in the pouring rain, we were immediately treated to non-stop hospitality. We stayed in Room 5, a large room with nice furnishings, french doors to a balcony overlooking the golf course and vintage bathroom. The shower was small and the water temperature and pressure was somewhat variable, but we enjoyed the full range of Aveda products offered.

In the late afternoon the hosts, Sam and Ed, offered wine and cheese by the fireplace and a congenial group of guests watched a variety of college football games in a comfortable TV room. Dinner in the dining room was enjoyable, with good food and a nice wine list. The full breakfast the next morning was wonderful, with eggs, bacon and sausage, pancakes and a variety of homemade baked goods.

All the while, Sam and Ed were consistently solicitous of our comfort, making sure we and the other guests had everything we needed or wanted. Their attention to detail and friendly hospitality made this an inn we would want to visit again.

I just got back from a weekend at the Fern Hall Inn. It was absolutely perfect. My extended family of 15 celebrated our father's 80th birthday. Ages ranged from 80 years to 3 years. The house is truly beautiful. You have the feeling of staying at a grand English country estate. There are terrific common areas to relax in, including a cozy bar with great wine list. Contrary to two other negative reviews, I saw no evidence that the inn is not maintained...it is in beautiful shape. The rooms are spacious and decorated with understated elegance. They provide Aveda bath products and fluffy towels and robes. Beds were comfortable. The pleasant surprise was the excellent food. Breakfast was terrific...especially the full Sunday Brunch. It is a wonderful value. Same for gourmet dinner. The amazing grounds and 9 hole golf course topped the weekend. The boat house on pretty Crystal Lake is a gem. The service was phenomenal...from the lovely owner Sam who couldn't do enough to every employee we interacted with. They even built a bonfire for us on Saturday evening. I can't say enough and encourage anyone who wants a peaceful, delicious, beautiful weekend to rush there!
