We came out to Blue Knob for a few days right before NYE 2012. I loved the place! The slopes weren't crowded at all & we hardly had to wait at all to get on the lifts. Nice long runs for the east coast & the prices were very reasonable. The scenery is just gorgeous & the drive up the mountain is breathtaking! although the mountain area is really cute, the website doesn't make it very easy to book a condo on the mountain (you have to call, no online booking). instead We chose to stay at the Fairfield Inn in Bedford and were happy with that experience. I enjoyed Blue Knob so much that I plan on going back in a few weeks with more friends. Great times!!!

Blue Knob offers the most challenging skiing in all of Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region. the key is going when the conditions are right. It is one of the few resorts around that offer glade skiing as well as a bowl. The 1000 ft vertical is a big draw. The views are gorgeous! The main attraction is the skiing and the rest takes a back seat. The food is good and I would recommend the kielbasa or bratwurst sandwiches. Definitely worth a day trip!

Blue Knob is an amazing mountain with breathtaking views of the surounding mountains. It's also a great spot to ski when the weather cooperates. Unfortunately, mild days followed by freezing nights are common, so ice is a constant issue. The ammenities are downright poor in the condominimiums that are reminiscient of old army barracks, so make it a day trip or plan your vacation elsewhere. As far as food goes, packing a lunch is the only option for a tasty and affordable meal at the lodge. If you must pay for a meal, drive a mile down the mountain to the Clubhouse Bar and Grill. It has better food portions at a more reasonable price. Nightlife is non-existant.

To summarize, if you live close enough to Blue Knob, then it is a perfect choice to satisfy a skiing addiction. If you're looking for a satisfying ski vacation with all the typical ammedities, look elsewhere.

I understand most people review this from a perspective in the winter, however I came to this state park in May, and there was nothing to do. I did not see any signs for any hiking, the roads were a bit confusing. Just a plain state park.
