“Glad we stopped in!”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

Got a tip from a co-worker about the new ownership, new chef, and new menu and we decided to stop by on a recent Friday evening. We had a very good meal at a very fair price. Smiling service sat us right down at a comfortable booth between the main dining area and the bar area, both being used rather heavily, and we settled in to try out the "new" Eagle Tavern. Started with drinks, glass of white wine for one and a Magic Hat #9 (beer of the day @ $3 per) for the other. On to apps and entrees which were all ordered off the evening's specials. Everything was tasty and relatively inexpensive in our opinion. Even split a dessert, a rarity for us. Friendly, tasty, and fairly priced works for us every time.

“Skip this restaurant”
Reviewed October 1, 2012 via mobile

It's a bar with a poor excuse for a restaurant attached. The food is overpriced cafeteria type fare. The salad was skimpy and limp. The food was merely warm and rather unappetizing. On the other hand the beer was cold yet overpriced. The waitress was inexperienced Although I keep looking for something nice to say about this dining experience nothing comes to mind. Perhaps they will get their act together. Perhaps not

“New owner, many improvements”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

We have been going to the Eagle Tavern since 1965 and during that time there have been many owners and the quality has gone up and down. For the last few years it had been more or less so-so. A month or so ago new owners took over and this place which has been around since the middle of the 19th century has a new look and a new menu. There are a lot of new items. I particularly liked the steamed clam appetizer, 18 clams in a broth with butter and garlic for $10. My wife had the chicken piccata and I had the veal milanese, both very good. We're not dessert eaters but the menu looked to be comprehensive. We'll be back.
