As a frequent business traveler to the Brandywine valley, it is always a great pleasure staying at Hamanassett Bed & Breakfast. Ashley Mon, Innkeeper, is a truly warm and inviting hostess. She has created a very comfortable atmosphere at the inn and has beautifully decorated the inn, guest rooms, and surronding grounds. From the moment you begin planning your trip and making reservations to your arrival, stay, and gourmet breakfast, you will not be disappointed. Ahsley's openness, pleasant manner and attention to detail are all bonuses. I would highly recommend a stay at Hammanasett for anyone planning a trip to the Brandywine area.

If you intend to spend some time in the Brandywine Valley, the place to stay is The Hamanassett B&B. We were first attracted by its web-site(www.hamanassett.com). It is extremely easy to navigate and provides comprehensive information including beautiful pictures of the accommodations. Particularly attractive is its location with respect to the area attractions. Hamananassett excudes charm only surpassed by that of Innkeeper Ashley. The house is exquisitly decorated with antiques, many of which came from Ashley's grandparents' southern mansions. Ashley adds her own southern charm and hospitality to that of this 1856 mansion. She could not be more accommodating, especially when it comes to restaurant recommendations and directions within a gnat's eyelash. Of particular note are her very creative and equally filling candle-lit breakfasts. We do not hesitate to recommend this B&B and would return in a heartbeat.

P.S. Follow Ashley's directions to the B&B

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at Hamanassett B&B. The house is beautiful and has a very positive energy. Ashley genuinely enjoys running her B&B and it shows! She pointed us towards some wonderful wineries & restaurants. There's lots to do in the area but you can surely relax at the house as well. We live pretty close to Chester Heights but we still felt like we were "away" for our weekend. I would definitely recommend Hamanassett! Oh yea... the breakfasts are amazing as well!

A lovely B&B in the Brandywine countryside, run by even more lovely innkeepers, Ashley and Glen.

We were able to get a room on little notice, due to a cancellation. They couldnt have been more hospitable. The room was a nice mixture of classic decor mixed with modern convenience. The other posts are correct when they say that the breakfast will fill you up for most of the day!

Cant wait to return!

Ashley and Glen Mon have created a very lovely and hospitable atmosphere in their beautiful 150 year old stone house in the Brandywine Valley of Pennsylvania. Full of antiques but not at all stuffy, one feels truly 'at home' The breakfasts are feasts (you can go all day on that meal alone) Their willingness to help with planning, reservations for meals, directions to places of interest are all bonuses. I would highly recommend this B&B to those who are planning a trip to this area.

Everyone comes to Fort Lauderdale for spring break. We go to Pennsylvania to visit relatives and make it a special occasion by staying at the Hamanassett. After trying several hotels and B&Bs in the area we came upon the Hamanassett and have made it our home away from home for the past three years during the Easter holiday.

From the first time we walked into the house Ashley made us feel so at home. Ashley, Glenn and staff are just wonderful. They are there for our every need when we want them to be, but they leave us alone for a quiet restful stay.

The rooms are beautiful, clean and have everything you would need. The pantry with snacks and beverages is great for midnight snacking. They pay attention to every detail including the bunny on our bed when we returned to our room the night before Easter.

We look forward to the delicious breakfasts every year and have all our friends wishing they could come just for breakfast. It is always amazing how we feel like it is our home and we are alone until we come down for breakfast and see it is a full house. The billard room, den with all the books, and the restful music make it such a joy to stay and helps with the at home feeling.

We can't say enough about the Hamanassett, Ashley, Glenn and staff. It was hard saying goodbye this last trip as we feel we are leaving friends, but we we will be back next year and look forward to seeing everyone.

Went for a quiet, romantic getaway to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Ashley and Glen were the perfect hosts - there when you had a question but not intrusive when you wanted to be alone. The room (Inverness Suite) was comfortable and beautifully furnished. The room faces the front of the house and with the windows open, you can hear the fountain at the koi pond. The antiques are interesting and the breakfasts were delicious. It is convenient to Longwood Gardens, local wineries, museums. We've been to a number of B & Bs over the past 3 years, and this really is among the best - a perfect escape in a beautiful area.
