Chose Hamanassett so we could bring our 115 lb. Bernese Mountain dog for a weekend away while our daughter played soccer in the area. We stayed in the Cottage and it was as comfortable as being home. Glenn & Ashley were very gracious and helpful with directions and recommendations. Breakfast was delicious. Very hard to go back to oatmeal on Monday.
Have already recommended a weekend away to our neighbors. Will definitely be back to do the wine tour.

Room Tip: If you have a dog, choose the cottage with the fenced yard.

I have stayed at the Hamanasett on several occasions when visiting our daughter at college. It is always a wonderful stay. The Inn is tucked away so that it really feels as if you are far away from any hustle and bustle yet there are many restaurants and things to do very close by. Ashley and Glenn and their staff are friendly and so helpful. Breakfasts are consistently terrific - I especially love the baked fruit dishes Ashley makes. And her cookies that are always available for snacking purposes are delicious. They also have fabulous stories of their adventures before becomng innkeepers yet they never are too intrusive.

So happy you are coming in the spring. The Brandywine Valley is beautiful all year round but you will see beautiful flowers blooming this time of year that aren't around in the fall. See you soon!

We had a wonderful weekend here - everything about it was excellent. The B&B is beautifully decorated. Our room was beautiful and very comfy. They have a pool table, lots of dvds, fresh baked cookies, snacks, and lots of other little details. The innkeepers are so friendly and gracious and they made fabulous breakfasts both days. They have horses on the property which they let us feed apples which was fun. We would definitely stay here again.

We just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at the Hamanassett B&B, The inn is beautifully decorated, comfortable and very clean. The innkeepers, Ashley & Glen, are gracious, interesting, & considerate people. We enjoyed our breakfasts with other convivial guests. Our room, The Inverness suite, was a lovely large room with seating area, balcony, modern bath & gas fireplace. We have stayed at many B&B's over many years, and we consider this one among the very best.

Experienced hospitality and attention to every detail while staying at the Hamanassett March 16 2013. After a long day of walking at Longwood Gardens, the warm greeting by Ashley was refreshing. Glenn joined her offerring libations and kept the fire stoked. The antiques and comfort made us settle in with ease. The bed was delightfuly comfortable with the sheets feeling like silk. The breakfast table was set with every attention to detail and the menu delicious. Special accomodations were made for a diet preference. I plan to return with friends for Brandywine Country Cooking School and bring 4 friends. I felt pampered and refreshed.

I treated my Mom to a mother/daughter weekend get away to celebrate her birthday. We enjoyed a fabulous stay at the Hamanassett Bed and Breakfast. The owners made us feel welcome and cared for by their thoughtful preparation for our arrival, including to ask about special diet restrictions for breakfast. They made a fire for us while we spent time in the living room of the main house and tended it well. There was also a pantry fill of snacks and drinks in case we needed a little some thing to eat. Fresh made cookies were waiting for us at the top of the stairs in a glass jar. The room we stayed in was beautiful with wonderful sheets and an awesome mattress and private bath. We slept well and enjoyed the most amazing breakfast in the morning. The house is beautiful and the owners have the gift of hospitality. My Mom used to be in the hotel business (so she is not easy to please), she and I just loved our time at this B&B! I highly recommend coming here with your spouse, friends and even your mother.
