Experienced hospitality and attention to every detail while staying at the Hamanassett March 16 2013. After a long day of walking at Longwood Gardens, the warm greeting by Ashley was refreshing. Glenn joined her offerring libations and kept the fire stoked. The antiques and comfort made us settle in with ease. The bed was delightfuly comfortable with the sheets feeling like silk. The breakfast table was set with every attention to detail and the menu delicious. Special accomodations were made for a diet preference. I plan to return with friends for Brandywine Country Cooking School and bring 4 friends. I felt pampered and refreshed.

I treated my Mom to a mother/daughter weekend get away to celebrate her birthday. We enjoyed a fabulous stay at the Hamanassett Bed and Breakfast. The owners made us feel welcome and cared for by their thoughtful preparation for our arrival, including to ask about special diet restrictions for breakfast. They made a fire for us while we spent time in the living room of the main house and tended it well. There was also a pantry fill of snacks and drinks in case we needed a little some thing to eat. Fresh made cookies were waiting for us at the top of the stairs in a glass jar. The room we stayed in was beautiful with wonderful sheets and an awesome mattress and private bath. We slept well and enjoyed the most amazing breakfast in the morning. The house is beautiful and the owners have the gift of hospitality. My Mom used to be in the hotel business (so she is not easy to please), she and I just loved our time at this B&B! I highly recommend coming here with your spouse, friends and even your mother.

Room Tip: They have photos online to help you see what you are reserving.

My trip to the Brandywine region of PA was made all the more special by a two day stay at Hamanassett - a beautiful and stately B&B on the top of a hill, surrounded by lovely grounds, a large stone terrace, a pasture with horses, and my favorite, a koi pond. Glenn and Ashley are gracious innkeepers, and excellent cooks. And as you can see from the photo of my table in front of the French doors looking out at the terrace, breakfast is an elegant affair.

I stayed in the Windsor room on the second floor with its impressive antique half tester bed. The large room has lots of windows and french doors to a little porch terrace - would be lovely in the summer.

The B&B is convenient to Longwood Gardens and Winterthur, and the country side is beautiful with lots of stone buildings dating to Colonial times. It is a great area for a vacation visit.

I recently stayed at the Hamanassett B&B in order to be close to the Philly Flower Show, and be able to take the train to the Convention Center. This B&B is quite a gem. The hosts, Ashley and Glenn, are so gracious and welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a wonderful private bath. Old Charm is evident throughout the house. I only wish it was warmer to enjoy the fabulous sunroom. Breakfast in front of the French doors, overlooking a patio and gardens, was very special and delicious. I highly recommend a stay here for whatever the occasion!

On Feb.. 2,2013, We stayed at the Hamanassett B&B. it was our wedding night. The house is a beautiful, old, large, comfortable building. It is filled with pristine antiques made very inviting with all the touches of a private home. Even though it was winter, the surrounding grounds were lovely. The next morning we were served a delicious breakfast by the hostess,Ashley, who shared some the history of the house. It is a wonderful, special, destination. It has so many perfect touches, home made cookies, baked by the host himself, sherry in the living room, port in the game room, fireplaces in many rooms, including the bedroom that we were in, a fully stocked pantry and comfortable bedrooms and bath.

Room Tip: Many local attractions and restaurants are available.

This was our third stay at Hamanassett. Whether you are sight-seeing or sneaking away for a relaxing retreat, this is a great choice! The house and grounds are beautiful whether you go in the winter or during the blooming in the spring. The Inn Keepers, Ashley and Glenn are friendly, warm and very accommodating. You can sip sherry in the game room while playing a round of pool or enjoy a glass of port wine in the library while relaxing and reading, all compliments of the Inn. There are always homemade cookies awaiting your arrival, and they provide a pantry stock full of snacks in case you get the midnight munchies!! They make adjustments to the breakfast menu to accommodate anyone's dietary or food preference needs. The Inn is a wonderful break from the stresses of the world. We look forward to going back again in the Spring!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful! If you go in Spring or Summer, the Inverness Room is great because it...

We spent one night at Hamanassett as an early Valentine's day treat. Everything was perfect! The house is beautiful. The owners are kind , personable and were available for anything that we needed. We had rose petals on the bed, a bottle of champaign waiting, all of the toiletries that we could have wanted, a TV with dvd player built in and a fireplace. There is a pantry on the second floor with free tea and snacks. They accommodated me with a vegan breakfast after my partner requested it ahead of time.
I only live about an hour away from Media, but I would definitely stay here again if there's something going on in the area that we want to check out.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. So glad you enjoyed your special vegan breakfast I made. I've actually developed a wide repetoire of vegan breakfasts because we get quite a few requests and are always happy to make them when told in advance. We'll look forward to having you back in the future.
