“Autumnfest”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

While my family didn't stay here at the resort, (we stayed at the Hampton Inn in Uniontown...a wonderful stay there) we did come for Autumnfest. We were doing a quick getaway with 3 grand kids and our daughter who live in Pittsburgh. We wanted something memorable, fun and affordable. Our drive was about an hour away from our hotel, but it was worth it. The drive was scenic and because it was autumn we got the best of colors and temps. Our charge for Autumnfest was a parking charge of $5. Yup..just $5. I was afraid we were going to get it stuck to us at some point, but we did not. We took in our own food, which was a God send because the grands have celiac disease and no one ever has stuff they can eat. We listened to great music by several bands or individual performers. We did pay for a chairlift ride up the mountain (a must do) and we handed over a few bucks for some painting and sand layering creations for the kids. They loved it. Picnic tables were everywhere and we threw back a couple of adult beverages, listened to music, ate our own food knowing the kids would be fine and were entertained by a magician that walked around performing and was super cheerful. Kettle corn aromas wafted on the cool air and craft vendors offered some beautiful creations. Just because of this experience, we plan on coming back next year and staying at the resort. What a fun fall experience!

We only stayed here because of an event we were attending and dont plan to come back on our own time. The room was average and clean with the exception of the bathroom and the pubic hairs in the tub. There was no AC, because it was Oct. they turned off the AC as an option, our first day happen to be in the mid to upper 70's and was extremely warm in our room and yet there was nothing you could do about it but sweat. NO mini fridges or microwaves, even in a Super 8 you at least get that. If you are assigned a room on the fourth floor near the bars, please note they have live music and it is loud, so if you want sleep, ask for another room. There are a number of places to eat in the main hotel but they all have the same menu, yes the same. So you can eat in the bar/lounge area and pay 1 price for your food, or walk 10 steps to a more "family" like area (which mainly means booths and tables) and pay more money for the exact same food in another area. Mind you, we saw all the food for these places come out of the same kitchen. The burgers are horrible, I wouldnt even recommend it as table scraps for your dog. The pizza place was the only place we found in that main area that didnt have the same menu, the sub's were good, but mind you, because it is classified as a "resort", you will pay "resort" prices on everything, food, drinks, activitys, entertainment. Vending machines for pop, or places like the pizza place charge $3.00 for a pop or ice tea.
The food we were served at our event was average tasting but the portions were so small, for example when you see photos in magazines of plated food. The chicken was such a small piece, there were about 4 very tiny potatos and 3 asparagus. I know the servers have a job to do but we werent even done eating our tiny portions and they were comming around trying to take everyones plates. This hotel, oops resort has alot of activites but it isnt some great escape place. An average place with a high price tag on everything you eat, drink, sleep, do and maybe even the air your breathing.

Room Tip: Make sure they do not assign you a room on the 4th floor near the bar/lounge (main area). There is l...

Just came back from a girls weekend at Seven Springs.
The good-we rented a condo. It had 2 bedrooms, a loft and two bathrooms. All six of us each had a bed and more than enough room to spread out. The views are outstanding. A day trip to Falling Water was fantastic as well. Shuttle service is prompt and convenient.
The bad-the restaurants. First night at Slope Slide. The food was great. The service was awful. Had to ask several wait staff several times for water, getting dirty looks and disgusted attitudes. Peanut butter dessert not labeled. My mom, who is allergic accidentally ate some. When I questioned the manager his response was -isn't't there anything else she likes. Luckily I had Benadryl, he just did not get it. Timbers on Saturday was the worst dining experience I've had. The food was tasteless. Three of six did not eat anything and our waitress never once asked how things were.Again spoke to manager who had blank look on his face. Skipped dessert. The ugly-we all decided to use the bathroom before we headed back to the condo. Next to the toilet was a pile of *^*^. My sister accidentally stepped on it. It looked like a dead leaf. Tried for over 20 minutes to find a manager or housekeeper to let them know with no luck. Even stopped two workers with getting the response-this is not my area. I'll send someone. Finally left. We won't be back.

We stayed at the hotel because we were attending the wine festival. It was nice not to have to drive after tasting wine all afternoon. The hotel room itself was clean, the hotel itself was not well kept. There was no mini bar or mini fridge. Luckily we brought our own drinks in a cooler for the long drive. There was clearly a problem with the drainage system, we were on the 10th floor and many ceiling panels were removed and buckets and laundry tubs places strategically throughout the hallway to catch the water. We weren't offered an apology or any explanation. Breakfast was very good and included in the price of our package. So if you want free breakfast go for it, otherwise it was not worth the money. The food we did pay for was overpriced, overcooked and lacking in taste.

I contacted the hotel afterwards by email and have not heard a word from them about my concerns

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your recent stay at Seven Springs. We are continuously upgrading our Resort. The project on the 10th floor has been completed. While it did not affect our guest rooms, I apologize that it did hurt the look of the guest corridor. Should you wish to further discuss your stay, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

By noon, Saturday, at the Mother Earth News Fair, we were hungry and stood in a long line at Emo's (barbecue) Pit. We placed an order and I was given a hamburger. I said that I had ordered a cheeseburger and in response, the server placed an ice cold piece of cheese under the fake whole wheat bun. I asked to have it melted and was told, "that is the way we serve it". When I said that I would not eat it that way, they melted the cheese (looking annoyed). I should not have wasted the time - the meat itself was so overcooked and hard, it could have been used for a hockey puck. It was probably cooked a day or two in advance. So I threw away that $13.00 cheeseburger and vowed never to eat there again. Food choices were not good and parking was so far away that going off-property for food would have been difficult. Going to the fair? bring a sandwich in your pocket! -K

We went for the Mother Earth News Fair, staying two nights in a run down condo. We had trouble finding the unit and never did find where we should have been parking.

We could not get access to the internet even though there were four or five networks in range.

The front desk passed the buck to an inaccessible "real estate department."

Room Tip: Book early to stay at the central property.

Mr. Corcoran,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your recent stay at Seven Springs. The Mother Earth News Fair brought thousands of guests to our Resort, selling out our Hotel and most of our condominiums. Our Hotel is equipped with wireless internet throughout and some of our condominiums come equipped with wireless internet access, as well. The particular unit you were in, did not have internet access. For your future reservations, this request can be made and fulfilled at the time of your booking. Should you have any further questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

This was our 3rd year attending the fair at 7 Springs. We have always found the employees - reservations, cleaning staff, wait staff, pizza shop staff, etc - to be friendly, courteous and accommodating. The rooms were clean, comfortable and supplied adequately. I do agree that some "sprucing up" may be needed, but this would not prevent us from staying there again. The breakfast buffet is delicious.

The prices are a bit steep and usually a 2-night stay is required.

All that considered, still a great place to be for the MENF on a pretty fall weekend.

Room Tip: Slope side in the towers has a nice view.
