I arrived at Craig Vic at 5:45--right in the middle of check-in time. There was a note on the door that said "return by 7:00." I had already had a long day of driving and seminars at Wilson College, and I had no way of getting into my room for at least another hour. I would have appreciated the courtesy of a key in an envelope with a note telling me what room I was in and to please sign in.
I walked to Lillie's Garden, where I had stayed the last time I was in Chambersburg. Miss Lillie welcomed me with a hug, and offered me water and an outlet to charge my phone. I went out to eat with someone there for the same seminar, who happened to be staying at Lillie's Garden.
When I returned to Craig Vic at 7:15, I got a stiff welcome, and no apology for not having been there during a huge chunk of check-in time. During the remainder of my stay, Roger and Barb were polite, but certainly not warm. The room was very nice, and all of my needs were provided for. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional. The whole experience would have been satisfactory if not for their idea of a welcome. Very poor customer service for what it was.
I will not be staying here again.More
