“Don't miss Kentuck Knob when in the Laurel Highlands”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Kentuck Knob. Each of FLW's houses are unmistakably his though their owners have made adjustments here and there that make each house unique. The Kauffman's adjustments to Kentuck Knob were practical and, for the most part, in concert with the design of the house. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and obviously enjoyed sharing the house with us. We also enjoyed the gorgeous view and the sculpture garden. Well worth a visit!

“Worth the visit”
Reviewed August 9, 2014 via mobile

A beautiful example of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian style in a spectacular setting! Our guide, Elizabeth, was wonderful and provided facts and stories about the property, FLW, and the Hagans who were the original owners. The 3 state view was breathtaking. We were not expecting the sculpture garden and felt it was a wonderful way to end the tour. If you get the chance, go! You will not be disappointed.

“A perfect companion visit to Fallingwaters.”
Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

We visited this site on the same day we visited Fallingwaters. While both are Frank Lloyd Wright homes and are very near each other, the visit experience is very different. While Fallingwaters is more structured and famous, our group enjoyed Kentucky Knob more. The tour was more personal and detailed and the visit less formal than Fallingwaters.

The sculpture meadow (walking back from house tour) is fun and quirky and worth a visit. How many places in Western PA have a section from the Berlin among their exhibits?

The view from the meadow next to the house is wonderful and reminds you why this area is well known.

The store and cafe are welcoming.

“Another masterpiece”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

If you go to visit Fallingwater, take the time to visit this house as well. The house was built about 20 years later, and is just as amazing as Fallingwater. The setting is different, and as a result, the way he brings nature inside is different. We had such a great tour. It was a rainy day for us, but we still braved the grounds, as there is so much to see beyond the house (they lend umbrellas). Don't miss this home!

“Great House Tour”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

I have been to Fallingwater several times, but this was my first visit to Kentuck Knob. It was very interesting to tour the house with our knowledgeable guide. It is a Frank Lloyd Wright house, but the original owner insisted on several changes, making it unique among FLW houses. The stone and wood work are amazing and beautiful. The house is privately owned and furnished with interesting art belonging to the owners. The grounds include interesting outdoor art installations and a piece of the Berlin Wall. While not as famous as Fallingwater, it is definitely worth the visit. Very peaceful setting!
