The Lodge at Chalk Hill
Reviewed January 1, 2012

The place is a lodge with lodge like accommodations, but the location was excellent, the rooms were clean, and the sleep was decent. They had coffee and snacks in the morning for us and I was happy tha we chose this place on a whim to stay over some of the other places in the area.

Stayed here overnight while traveling to Fallingwater/Kentuck Knob. Room simple but clean, nice porch with view of pond, free breakfast with cereal, fruit, donuts/bagels... breakfast area clean and large. Beds a little soft for our liking. Free wi-fi in room... staff very pleasant and helpful with directions.

A friend and I stayed while visiting Fallingwater. We had a very good experience. The rooms were very clean - the bathroom was immaculate and the sheets were also clean. The beds were comfortable. The deck outside the room was great - it would be nice if there were a divider wall between decks to give a bit of privacy. But, it is wonderful to have a deck with a great view when you're staying at a hotel. We also received fantastic customer service from the managers. I would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I would stay here again.

We were visiting Falling Water and this was convenient place to stay. The place was built on the cheap so has no style. Our room was clean, everything worked, and the bed was comfortable. We got a good night sleep. The free continental breakfast was minimal but did the job.

This would not be a good place to stay if you were trying to impress someone or you are looking for a romantic outing.

Room Tip: Take the time to read the historical markers in the area.

We got the last room at this lodge on Labor Day weekend, with no knowledge of the local accommodation, so we were very lucky and we loved the place - the rooms are like little apartments with microwave and fridge, wide-screen TV, closet, full bath, even an iron and ironing board, and good wi-fi. There was a deck on the back overlooking a big pond with a walking trail, and the setting was very well landscaped and mowed. There was a continental breakfast offered and the rates were reasonable with a AAA discount. We are already planning to go back in October.

We were visiting family and this was about 5 miles from their home. We had a great room witha balcony and a view of the lake. We brought our dog with us as they are "pet friendly". The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless...
There is a nice lake that you are permitted to fish... no fishing license required as this is a private lake. We will definitely be back.
This hotel is close to Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater" home, Ohiopyle State Park, Lots of hiking trails, biking,, and great whitewater rafting... in the beautiful Laurel Highlands

Our room was spacious, clean and had a comfy bed; coffee on the sunny deck in the morning was perfect and the location is perfect for all the goings-on in the Laurel Highlands. The full kitchen was very convenient and the price was really right. Sure, it could stand some updating, but the cleanliness, price and family atmosphere will bring us back.
