This place is a winner and one of our all time favorites! Historic, yes. Ambiance and decor, yes. A REALLY good breakfast, yes. We spent 4 nights and would still be there if we had our druthers.
Cheryl and Chip are excellent hosts and the place is truly comfortable. Featherbeds, nice linens and well appointed bathrooms. Marvelous coffee and a comprehensive tea selection. Some of the stairs can be a bit tricky for older folks with limited mobility. The gardens are lovely even when past their fall prime. I am of the opinion that they should give lessons to other B&B operators in how to do it right.
Best extras: good reading lamps and bedtime snacks
