My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Pennsybury Inn and we were most pleased. Having stayed at about 50 B&Bs during the past 7 years, we were most impressed with the gardens despite the rather dry summer.
Inside, our room (John Marshall) was attractive and comfortable. We had a private bath a few steps down the hall and our room came supplied with slippers and heavyweight terry robes. Although other inns indicate that they have a "turndown" service, this was the first that not only turned down the bed, there was also an attractively set (and, very tasty) "sweet treat" on each of our two nights. The room also included a small but adequate TV, pen and paper, and reading lamps on BOTH sides of the bed.
Breakfast on both mornings was really very good, including a freshly baked bread, an egg dish, breakfast meat (bacon, turkey sausage), fresh fruit, and a nice selection of herbal teas.
I have since learned never to take any of these elements for granted and was most pleased with our stay. Cheryl and Chip (the owners) have paid close attention to detail and we plan to return in the late spring next year.
