I have to confess that this is my very favorite museum. It is in an absolutely beautiful historic building, stunning natural setting with huge glass floor to ceiling windows facing a stream and has 3 very easy to view floors of paintings by the world famous Wyeths and a few other artists.
They have a sweet little coffee shop that has lunch and snacks and a very nice gift shop that sells kids' books(for some reason) and other art related items.
The courtyard just outside the entrance looks as if it was used for horse stalls(?) and is sometimes used for special events. The cobblestones that lead you into the museum all add to the beauty of the place.
The local canoe company drops people off outside...it creates a small town feel and a sense of pride that the Wyeths are locals and this place exists.
