“Winter Fun very close to D.C.”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

I went with the whole family, different ages and fitness levels. We got there a bit late in the afternoon,so we spent about two hours snow tubing at night, which was just the right amount of time. It was incredibly fun! None of us had done this before, we had an absolute blast. The drive to and from D.C. Was not bad, and we would definitely visit again. Make sure you are wearing water repellant , winter clothing and winter boots, otherwise you will get wet!

“Mixed experience”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

There were definite positives and negatives to our trip.

Positives: all of the staff from the Children Learning Center (CLC) were awesome. We have a 5 year-old with some sensory sensitivity, and they were wonderful with helping her find boots that didn't upset her, including trying 2 pairs of boots and talking gently and patiently with her. When we were 20 minutes late for her noon lesson because of this, they let us switch to the 2pm lesson rather than missing alot of the lesson - and her progress after 2 days of lessons was just amazing.

Negatives: although our family of 5 had purchased All Mountain Passes (their most expensive package, which should include all day, all mountain lift tickets and ski/snowboard rentals), a teenager refused to give helmets to those of us that rented skis, despite us being told earlier that the pass included helmets. They wanted another 25 dollars for that, even though our snowboarders and CLC members were given helmets. After the amount of money we spent for our family of 5 (over $500/day), having a teenager refuse us this basic safety part of equipment was just simply irritating, and a really poor business choice on their part - he had hundreds of helmets sitting behind him going unused! Boo.

Also, it was irritating that the employees directing customers to get on the Apline Lift (from 7-8 sub-lines feeding) seemed to pay no attention to who had gotten there first. I waited 10 minutes with my 2 kids to get on the lift, while 2 pretty girls ski'd up in the then-empty line next to me, and got right on. They need a better system for ensuring first in line, first on the lift!

Overall, ok but not great experience. My older kids enjoyed the free-style park. If they would fix the negatives, I would have given 5 stars for the staff at the Children's Learning Center.

“Great for Snow Tubing”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

Went here snow tubing on one of the last Saturday's of the season. It was packed but well worth it. It was big enough to accommodate such a large crowd and did not sell out of tickets. Would definitely go back again and recommend this. The hills were a lot of fun!

“Awesome tubing!”
Reviewed February 23, 2014

Brought a date here to try snow tubing and it was EPIC! It was actually the first time I had been tubing at a ski resort (I'm from Colorado, so big skiier) and the track was about twice the size of what I had imagined! We had joked about bringing our helmets and goggles and it was actually quite the prudent idea, as we got mad speed going down the hill! There is a covered magic carpet that plays fun 80's music as it carries your inner tubes and you up the hill. Will definitely come back! Great time for a date or with a group of friends. One note: would recommend going for the two hour ticket - time flew by. We came here on a Saturday night from 8 to 10. Some crowds between 8 and 9 and then after 9pm it was like we had the place to ourselves.

“Fun weekend trip!”
Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

Had a fun weekend skiing at Liberty. I am a beginner and my husband is intermediate skier and we both thought the trails were fine. We went on a weekend; it was crowded, but we never had to wait too long to get on the chair lift. We found that the wait was non existent on the back side of the mountain, so we spent more time there.

It is a quick drive from the DC area, so I am sure we will be back.
