“Outstanding B&B, excellent service, delicious breakfast”
Reviewed November 10, 2009

As I was looking for a nearby quiet spot for some R&R, I discovered the hidden gem of central PA, Pheasant Field B&B. Dee & Chuck, the innkeepers, are warm, friendly and welcoming and provide excellent service. I loved learning the history of the house & barn and that the house was a stop on the Underground Railroad. The rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable and with all amenities provided daily. The pond area is the perfect spot for bird watching as I spied a snowy egret and blue heron. Each morning, Dee prepared a delicious breakfast. All in all, a relaxing, rejuvenating stay at a B&B that seems like home.

We were greeted by the Inn-keepers upon our arrival and treated to a wonderful home made breakfast each morning. The room was lovely; furnished in traditional style with private bath. Rooms and common areas are very clean and comfortable. Staff is very helpful suggesting sites to see and providing directions. They are also willing to help with tickets and restaurant selections. The location is convenient to town and many fine dining choices. The warm atmosphere and friendly hosts keep us coming back to this excellent historical B&B in the Cumberland Valley.

This was our first trip to the Pheasant Field B&B - we went with friends who have been going for years and have raved about the B&B as well as the owners, Dee and Chuck. And, now we know why. Dee and Chuck welcome their guests as if they were family. The accommodations are eye-appealing, clean and oh-so comfortable. Breakfast each morning is delicious and satisfying. Pheasant Field is a wonderful old colonial nestled in a bucolic setting and surrounded by towns steeped in history. (Gettysburg is a great day trip.) Dee and Chuck have done a wonderful job of creating a home-away-from-home environment for their guests . . . . they could not be more accommodating or friendly. We already have our reservations set for next year!

Pheasant Field has everything we want in a lodging. It's clean and comfortable, attractive and well-appointed, pet-friendly, located barely five minutes from town, and best of all -- QUIET! Rates are more reasonable than many motels, and include a good breakfast and nice surroundings.

My daughter and her husband-to-be fell in love with this
place for their wedding and reception the first time they saw it.
I thought Mom knew best and preferred our church and the
officer's club at the Army War College but they won and had
their September wedding there. And they really made the
best choice. From the beginning to the last clean-up, the owners, Chuck and Dee, treated all of us teriffic. Both the photographer and videographer were pleased with the site and got beautiful shots with wonderful backgrounds.
The wedding site with the pond and fountain is beautiful,
especially the little bridge everyone crosses over. Everything
from beginning to end turned out perfectly and a lot of thanks
go to the wonderful owners who took so much time with us.
It is a well-kept secret in Carlisle but should not be. I
would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for an outdoor wedding or just a neat place to spend the night. You'll be
well taken care of. Viki Chronister

Of the 32 or so B&B's in which we've stayed, The Pheasant Field has now become our all time favorite. We found it through the Deneen Pottery website as we collect Cloth and Clay mugs. We just had our third stay at Pheasant Field and look forward to going back. The attention to detail is incredible without being over done. The rooms are gracious and comfortable. The breakfasts in the lovely dining room are delicious. Even the coffee is unusually good, fresh ground, we think. The ambiance of the inn and the surrounding grounds is really delightful as is the countryside of the area. Yet in addition to all these things, it is the gracious hospitality of the innkeepers, Chuck and Dee, (and Bubba the dog who adds his greeting as you arrive). Chuck and Dee make you feel right at home and are delightful people who seem to know what it takes to offer an exquisite B&B experience. While so far we've stayed there en route to Martha's Vineyard, we plan to visit Pheasant Field as a destination inn. It's hard to leave the place after just one night.

This is my wife's and I's second visit to Pheasant Field B&B. It is such a charming, hospitable B&B. This time, we decided to bring 2 other couples with us for a mini-getaway from the kids. The 6 of us had an amazing time from the great welcome from Dee and Chuck, the Innkeepers, to the warm gathering room with fireplace, the history of this inn being a stop on the underground railroad, to an amazing breakfast! If you are traveling to Carlisle and want a great place to stay, then check this place out. It seems so secluded, yet is just 5 minutes from the interstate. It has an amazing pond, great ambiance...and the rooms have so many details, I could type for a while. We stayed in the Remembrance suite, which had its own private fireplace, a deck overlooking a horse farm and a hot tub.
