“Great overnight stop!”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

We stayed here when we dropped our daughter for dance camp. Kit was lovely and couldn't be more helpful with suggestions for dinner and showing us our cosy room. Breakfast before we left was absolutely delicious and we felt so welcome and comfortable. We stayed in the Country Comfort room. Will definitely return next year if our girl goes back to the same camp. B&B is out in the country, but only a few minutes from town.

We were travelling across Penn and decided to skip the chain hotels and treat ourselves to a something special. What a great decision that was. The whole visit just couldn't have been better. The love and respect that our hosts (Kit and Robin) obviously have for each other spilled over not only to their lovely house and grounds but to their guests. We ended up staying longer than we had planned to get a little history lesson about the grounds and especially the huge pre-Civil War barn. Again this place gets our highest recommendation and I know where we will be staying the next time we are in central Penn.

I'm staying here for business and this is just an extraordinary place. I was immediately greeted by Rob, who very quickly introduced me to his wife Kitty and their dog Rehab. The moment you walk in you feel absolutely comfortable. I've stayed at B&B's across the world and Rob & Kitty have a knack of instantly making you feel "so at home". The location is beautiful, and the scenery is exquisite. Kitty instantly asked me about food allergies and what time breakfast would be the most convenient, they are so focused on details she even requested how I like my coffee. The house is so quaint and comfortable! It's a "must stay" place!

The rooms are meticulous. I stayed in the Pheasant Dreams room and the size was perfect with a nice size bathroom. It did not have a bathtub, but that was fine by me, but if you want that you may want a different room. The beds are perfect!!! Highly recommend this place!

Our family stayed here in order to attend our son's college graduation, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our two rooms were charmingly decorated, comfortable and clean. Our hosts, Kit and Robin (and Rehab, their dog), exude graciousness - and made us feel completely welcome. Our breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and included a choice of homemade, healthy baked goods and main dishes. A basket of complementary fruits and snacks were kept on a sideboard for guests to help themselves. Although our time on the property was limited, we were able to enjoy the labyrinth and pond, and to see unique parts of this historic house.

We really enjoy hosting our Dickinson College families, and we're glad you found your stay at Pheasant Field B&B an enjoyable one. We always provide our guests yummy breakfasts and surprise them with extra treats all day. It's rewarding to know our guests choose to stay with us each time they come to Dickinson College, and although your son has graduated, we hope to see you on a future visit to our area! Thank you for your kind review!

After an 8 hour drive, arriving at Pheasant Field was just what the doctor ordered. Was worried it might live up to it's billing but forget that!! Robin & Kit are gracious hosts (and a big thanks for suggesting making our own chocolate bars in Hershey - a highlight!) and Rehab is the world's best B&B dog. For the 3 of us gals, General Miller's Retreat with a king bed as well as a sofa bed was perfect. There are complimentary cold drinks and other goodies. Breakfast was outstanding and we all tried the scrapple (tastes like sausage - go ahead, try it). Their website is easy to navigate and full of good info. I wish we had more time to explore the area but we did drive around Carlisle and Dickinson College the next day before getting back on the road and WOW!!

Pheasant Field B&B is only a few miles off the highway and I am so glad we chose it rather than something in Harrisburg which was more expensive and did not look nearly as nice.

We are so pleased you chose to stay at Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast! Many of our travelers reach us after long hours on the road and our goal is to provide our guests a relaxing setting and make them feel welcome and comfortable. Rehab takes her job very seriously and thanks you for your kind words about her. She works hard at being a good dog!
We're happy you took the time to visit Hershey and made your own candy bar! Hershey is a great place to visit and only 45 minutes away.
We hope to have you as our guests again and thank you for your kind review.

Even though we only stayed one night, Kit and Robin (and Rehab, the dog) were really nice and accomodating. We stayed in the Petsylvania room, which had its own door and was, for the most part, separate from the rest of the building. We were able to walk the dog in the large field across the road and near the pond filled with ducks. There is even a dog cleanup area with a dedicated trash bin and bags. Robin told us about all the interesting history of the property like the hiding space for slaves escaping on the Underground Railroad and the special slit windows built into the stone barn that allowed for settlers to shoot from a protected vantage.

The room was very comfortable and offered almost all the amenities you could want including its own collection of plates, glasses, and utensils; soft bathrobes; and a comfy bed. The breakfast featured great coffee and a choice of waffles or quiche. Kit and Robin were always there to help you with anything, but also let us do our own thing. I was thinking of staying at a chain hotel nearby, but changed my mind once I found Pheasant Field. I'm glad I did.

Green Features: They use solar-heated water, which was plenty hot and a good idea for a location that does a lot of sheet and towel washing.

This was a great find for us. Picture perfect 5 acre property that included horses, a chicken coop and a beautiful pond area. The grounds were fantastic, especially as we travel w our dog. The room was great. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The hosts, Kit & Robin, are delightful. Very welcoming. Without a doubt, one of the nicest places we have stayed in our travels.
