If you are coming from the Ottawa area (we crossed in Prescott) you can make this campground in about 8 hours.
Located about 4 miles off the highway but signs easily mark the path.
Check in took a little longer then usual not sure why and didn't seem to be to interested in making small talk.
Campground overall was large seemed to be a lot of permanent/leased/regulars so not sure what it would be like in high season....like being the odd man out.

We were driving through the state and stayed at Western Village for one night. It was in late September, so the park was not full at all. We have an RV with tow vehicle and had plenty of room, no campers on either side of us for several rows. The staff was very nice. Park is huge so we had plenty of room to walk the dogs. Lots of trees and the grounds were clean. Bathrooms were OK and the shower had hot water. We would stay again if going through the town.

Our family of four stayed here in Aug. because it was close to Williams Grove and had activities. The pro's- very friendly, courteous staff, quiet sites, and well stocked camp store open late. The pool was also clean and enjoyed by our boys. They also had an excellent Sunday morning service (church) on the property.
The con's- very dirty restrooms throughout stay. Also outdated. The rest rooms, showers, and laundry are right outside the pool. There were only two stalls and the doors are half doors. So when you are standing you see the whole bathroom and everyone sees you. Each time I went there was water around the toilets and down the middle of the floor along with dirt tracks. I attributed this initially to careless people dripping from the pool, until I found puddles of water around one of the toilets at night. One of the stalls was clogged with fecal matter upon two of my visits. There are also no outlets. I am aware there is another restroom facility, but it was not near our site. I actually, on the second day, invested $100 in a portable potty and shelter to avoid the restrooms!
Second issue- We bought several toys from the store. One of them, a toy cap gun, was defective right out of the box. When I went to return or exchange it
(with packaging and the receipt) I was told that they have a "no return" policy. I thought that this was terrible. If you sell something defective, the buyer should be able to exchange it! My boy was crushed (he is seven years old). So obviously, I was obligated to buy another, more expensive cap gun and just hope it worked! This was definitely stunningly poor customer service, which I why I give a low service rating!
Would I return? (I have since bought a travel trailer with a bathroom. So I no longer care about the restrooms.) It honestly depends on their response to this posting, if they respond. I would return only if they gave me reason to believe that they really do care about the satisfaction of their campers. If that happens I will post further.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I'm sorry that upon your visits to the bathhouse, you found the restroom to be dirty. The restrooms are checked on a regular basis through out the day and attended to immediately when a problem is reported. We receive many, many compliments on the cleanliness of our bathhouses, including this outdated one. In January of 2012, a total renovation of our other bathhouse was completed and plans to renovate this one to occur soon.
A reminder has been given to staff in regards to our return/exchange policy, as it is our policy to allow for the return or exchange of defective merchandise, and purchases made in error.
Once again please accept my apologies.

We stayed at this campground recently for the Truck Nationals at Carlisle. The campground is conveniently located for anything going on at the fairgrounds. The grounds are very clean and well maintained. The campsites are VERY close together! We had children with us, and they loved the pool. They did NOT enjoy the bouncing thing at all because they were very limited as to what they could do on it. If your going to the area for a specific reason, this campground is nice. If your going to actually "camp," this is not really the place to go. On the website it states that it has to be "kiln-dried" firewood. When we called about bringing it, they stated "Absolutely NO Firewood!"

We stayed here Memorial Day Weekend, 2012. Overall this is a nice campground. Checking in went smoothly and directions to the site were good. (They take you the direction which is easier to back into your site) The pool is decent. The grounds were mowed and well maintained. Permanent sites were all well maintained. The miniature golf was what you'd expect for a small campground (the 5 kids in our group described it as "lame"), the game room was small but cute, a small pavilion that is also nice. The bathhouse closest to our site was not very nice. Showers are inadequate and lack privacy. The water connections each have 4 connections that are shared so they may not be close to you. I had to purchase another hose to reach our camper. Most sites provide shade. My biggest criticism is that the sites are too close and too small. My neighbor’s awning was literally 2" off my slide. 70% of the sites are on top of each other. Some of the sites are adjacent to a mowed field or a parking area which helps but overall the sites were way too tight for us. The site speed limit is 5mph. Since the sites are so tight it is enforced. Our permanent neighbor literally vaulted over a chair and sprinted 50 yards down the road to get a license plate of someone going a little fast. Went here with our family of 5 and a friend with a family of 4. We both agree that we will not return due to the small sites.

Our stay was not especially pleasant. During our entire stay, we were faced with looking at a "Black Sambo" statue erected in a prominent location on an occupied site near the entrance. The statue has racial overtones and is very offensive. When reported, management did not take the matter seriously. We stayed at the park five days and statue was never removed and no followup with us to offer assurance that the matter would be taken care of. We were also surprised to find that our distinguished guest and his spouse had to pay a fee of $2 each just to visit for 30 minutes. The site itself was mediocre.

We are sorry that you were offended by a decorative statue on the campsite of one of our seasonal campers and that you were surprised by the visitors fee at our park. We have spoken with the owners of the statue, and they have assured us that no racial overtones were intended. We have asked that the statue be removed. Upon entering the park, there is a sign posted with the visitors fee that are also disclosed in our literature and on our website. Upon entry, all of our guests-including short-term visitors- are covered by the park's liability insurance. Our visitors fees are quite low in comparison to many other campgrounds, and they reflect very real costs involved in accommodating added guests.

We are sorry that you were upset when we asked you to turn down the radio or move to your friends campsite that was playing the music. Many campers have told us how much they appreciate the quietness of our park. Quiet hours, as disclosed in our literature and on our website, are from 11PM-8AM.
