“A Comprehensive History of the U.S. Army”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

This is a fairly new museum that depicts the history of the U.S. Army dating back to before the War for Independence. There was a simulated seat to experience what it is like to be an airborne trooper. Another simulation had you enter a dark room set up to look like a bunker. There was a small window where you could see the enemy coming over the hill. All this was accompanied by explosions, flares, and guns shooting. You could also stand behind a uniform and see how you look as a member of today's army. There was an art display on the second floor. There was some kind of outside display which we were not able to see because of heavy rain. The only criticism is that it was a bit difficult to see which way to go because there were several rooms. Finally figured out to follow the chronological dating.

“Wonderful history of the Army”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Great historical information. One could spend hours visiting and learning about the Army. There was also a nice hiking trail that included military equipment such as a helicopter, tanks and artillery weapons.

“Great place to spend the day”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

I love museums. Military museums, even more so. I found this gem along I-81 in the middle of Carlisle, PA. I knew it was the home of the US Army War Collage, but I didn't know their was a museum here. Now I know. It has two galleries, one about the history of the US Army Solider, and another about General Omar Bradley. Outside is a wonderful walking trail full of recreations of American forts and entrenchments from the past, artifacts like a M-18 Tank Destroyer and a Huey Chopper, and a recreation of a village used to train troops in WWII.

Their is also a sandwich shop located in the building. Very tasty and reasonably priced. It's run by the MWR folks, so any profit goes to help the homesick soldiers. Thank you, ladies!

If you are into military history, you need to visit this place.

“Fun, informative”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

This was quite the museum - I loved the walk through historic replicas of battle shelters and tanks, the obstacle course, and the educational (yeah, I know - but educational in a good way, not "blech") info along the way. I WANTED to read everything.
