“Great Place for Beginner Skiiers”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

Went there with my family of 5 whom are all beginner skiiers and 2nd time for my 3 kids (9,11 & 14) and they all did well and enjoyed themselves. Rental Equipment staff was helpful and quick. E2000 lounge was a great place for the adults to hangout for some food and beverages with nice views of the top of the slopes.

“Cardboard Classic”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

This was my first trip to this resort. it is a large area that i look forward to visiting again. We attended the cardboard classic with a large group. The resort personal handled the event wonderfully. The Lodge is large with many places to eat and rest up. The restrooms were clean, though not enough for this large event. I really liked the snow tubing hill and hope to enjoy this on a future visit.

“Great for Beginners of All Ages”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Having never been on skis before in my entire life, I knew I would need a lesson before hitting the slopes. The Discovery lessons for beginners at Jack Frost were perfect! You start out just learning how to put the skis on and walk around, and the instructors move you along to the next station (gliding, turning, linking turns, etc.) individually. So if you start to master a certain skill, you won't get bored, they'll send you right off to the next station. And if you are having a lot of trouble with a certain skill, they will give you individual attention until you get it right- they definitely make sure all the new skiers feel safe and prepared before sending you down the hills! The best part though is that an instructor actually comes with you in a small group of beginners (we had three) for your first trip down the easy slope to make sure you'll be okay on your own.

As it is the end of the season, it wasn't crowded at all. We didn't have to wait very long for the lifts and there weren't really any crowding issues on the slopes. I can only speak for the easy slopes, but they were perfect for me as an adult beginner. Just enough flat areas to correct yourself should you veer out of control, some nice steeper parts to practice your turns and glides, and one of them even had a few jumps to try out some tricks.

My two small complaints: the young staff members who were helping out in the self-service boot fitting area were goofing off a little too much. Also, the foot court area, though it had a good variety of decent tasting food, was on the expensive side and got swamped during lunchtime. Despite the numerous signs stating that it was against the rules, people took it upon themselves to lay their bags all over the tables and save spots while they were out skiing. Very inconsiderate and I wish the staff could have enforced the rules more.

Overall, a fun day out and an excellent place to learn to ski. I look forward to going back and maybe trying some of the more difficult runs.

“WMMR Cardboard Classic”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

I don't ski so I only went for the Classic however my husband rented some skis and did ski. Even with the amount of people they were entertaining for the day all the staff were really pleasant. They walked us through each step to do his rentals which was nice. His skis which were not used in over ten years were broke so he had to rent. The price was good and the helpful staff was excellent. Bathrooms were clean surpisingly with the amount of people at the resort for the day. Would definitely go back....

“Fun Family Day”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Fun for all, beginners and intermediates. Runs are fun and have snow tubing for those not interested in skiing (i.e. my four year old). They must be able to ride their own tube though.
Snow Monsters ski school is very good for kids. However, the classes do fill up quickly, so be sure to give yourself enough time to get there.
One irritation, table and chair saving in the lodge. Large groups and families place large bags and coolers on the tables to save their spots while they are out skiing. This is not supposed to be permitted, however, nothing is done to prevent it. As a result, extremely limited seating if any available at all. I have seen families sitting on the floor to eat their snacks. I wish the staff but be more proactive with enforcing this as other resorts that I ski at do.
