So we found this place to be very pricey $20 for adults. There is nothing bad but this place is not local feeling and feels very manufactured. The fried chicken was good but everything else was just average. While not horrible, for the price we will not be stopping in again.

Thank biandi

Thank you taking the time to review your dining experience with us at Plain & Fancy. Our golden fried chicken is definitely a guest favorite along with our homemade iced raisin bread, homemade mashed potatoes, brown buttered noodles and our sour cream apple crumb pie (just to name a few). We also offer an extensive ala carte menu for guests not wanting to do the full feast. I apologize we did not meet your expectations but hope that we will have the opportunity to serve you again.

Plain & Fancy is a unique family style restaurant which serves some great food, most (or all?) of which is raised and grown on site. Depending on how many are in your party, you may eat with just your people, or be sat down with others visiting the area that get to "join" your family to have large serving dishes of fried chicken, dumplings, mashed potatoes, corn, roast beef.....on and on and on....I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Nash, thank you for taking the time to post your recent review. I am glad you enjoyed many of our scratch-made traditional PA Dutch items on our Amish Farm Feast. We hope you have the opportunity to dine with us again!

A group of eight of us went here to eat and we devoured the fried chicken and agreed it was the best darn fried chicken we had ever eaten. Did I mention the buttered noodles? They are so buttery, I know they can not be good for you but they sure are delicious. Last but not least the apple pie. We prefer Plain and Fancy over Shady Maple. The food is much better at Plain and Fancy. The one caveat is, the restaurant for all you can eat is family style so if you do not have at least 8 people in your party you will have to dine with strangers. Me, I am not big on that one. So we opted when there were only 5 of us to order from the menu and not have the smorgasbord. For that you have to have at least 8. They would not let the five of us order the smorgasbord.

Thanks for commenting on your recent visit! I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the food and dining experience. Just to clarify, any size party may enjoy the all-you-care-to-eat Amish Farm Feast, however smaller parties choosing this option will be seated at a family-style table with other guests. That's the friendly Pennsylvania Dutch way! Our family-style tables generally seat 10-12 guests, so depending on your party size sometimes larger parties do end up getting their own family-style table all to themselves (like you did once before). Parties wishing to sit at their own private tables may certainly do so, and can order off of our extensive a la carte menu. I'm so glad that you have had a chance to sample both styles of dining, and we hope to see you again very soon!

My husband and I have eaten here before and enjoyed our dinner. Based on that, we came here with our family during a recent weekend trip. We were there a bit later in the evening and ordered ala carte. The restaurant was not crowded, but the service was awful. The server was friendly enough, but very slow. We were a family of 7 and of that, 4 dinner orders were wrong. One didn't even get served until most of us were done, and then what was served was not was ordered at all. The dinner was recooked, but by the time it came, our family member didn't even want it as so much time had passed. No rolls were served as advertised. The food that did come was okay, but our experience with the service and wrong orders will make it unlikely that we will return. That is too bad, because it is in an interesting setting with other things to do on the grounds. A bad night? Maybe, but with all the experience they have and how long they have been in business, there were way too many mistakes in one meal. Sorry!

Thank you for sharing your comments. I'm so sorry to hear that your experience was disappointing, and apologize for the slow service you received. I hope that you were able to speak with a manager during your meal to communicate your concerns. I will pass your comments on to our General Manager to address with the service and kitchen staff. Again, I'm so very sorry that you were unhappy with your meal, and I hope that we will have an opportunity to make it up to you in the future.

We went here for dinner during our stay in Ronks. We chose the 'Farm feast style' and had plenty of food served while sitting with people we did not know - to begin with.
The chicken and the roastbeef was fantastic. The sweet corn was delicios (our son would love the recipie). The desserts were great even though we were full already when we got to them.
Quite special to sit at the long tables in a barn looking building and eating good and solid farmland food.
We enjoyed it very much
