“Tasty local food”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

I've eaten here several times over the years. Most recently I ordered the soup, salad bar which also had bread and cheese. Three soups were offered as well as the typical salad bar items. Price was reasonable and service was friendly. Others in the group ordered the buffet which was under $20 a person on a weekend night and included beverage and dessert bar. Items were hearty and included sauerkraut & pork, ham balls, country sausage, turkey, ham, fried chicken, fried clams, meatballs, fried shrimp, fish, etc. My son and mom enjoyed the food. Other customers ranged from local families, including Amish, to tour groups, and visitors to the area.

“Great Place for Breakfast!”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

You know how when you first wake up on an over night trip you have no idea what you want for breakfast? Well, then head to the Bird-In-Hand Family Restaurant where the food and service are excellent!! The offering is enormous and the buffet has a little for every taste. Serving the typical Pennsylvania Dutch fare the food is delicious. Anything you can imagine from pastries to eggs to breakfast casseroles to scrapple, etc. Where else do you know that you can have Shoo-Fly Pie for breakfast?! The price was reasonable - $8.99 for the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. A great place to take the family.

“Good selection.....great view”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Went to breakfast with a group of 10 people. This was my first visit here and had heard raves from my friends. The breakfast buffet had many selections. Half of us choose the buffet (8.99 for breakfast mid week) and half ordered off the menu. The staff were courteous and accomodated our 10 people quickly.

As for the buffet, good selection of breakfast foods from waffles and pancakes to eggs, bacon, link sausage, oatmeal, sticky buns, biscuits, toast, sausage gravy and cream chipped beef. fruit and egg casserole. The other five in the group ordered various choices off the menu....one had scrapple...that I heard was A++. The food although plentiful and hot and I felt was average.

My only hesitation for giving this a higher rating was once we received our drinks, there were no refills offered and except for our plates being picked up when empty and bills delivered. We never saw our waitress . Since the place was barely occupied I was a bit unhappy and I think others in the group may have felt the same way today.

The store attached to restaurant was fun to look through. And the bakery was nice too.

I understand the luncheon buffet and dinner buffet has a much larger selection of food. The restaurant is huge and there is a theater attached. They put on dinner plays. The current one is a take off of an Amish fiction book by Beverly Lewis.
