“Wonderful fresh food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2012

For fresh Italian comfort food, this BYOB is superb. Be forewarned that it is usually crowded and noisy but this just means that for a lot of people it is a favorite. Frankie, the owner, is always around making sure that everything is up to snuff. For dessert lovers there are delectable cannoli and always an indescribably delicious cake from Sweet Jazmin's bakery just down the street

“for the burbs not so bad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2012

One of the better suburban BYO Italian joints around, and this place is always packed on the weekends. The pasta and sauces are all fresh and I’ve enjoyed the grilled veal chop special in the past. We always enjoy the bruschetta, it is excellent, just wish there were more of it. Went there recently with a large group and it took too long for the wine to be opened and poured but glad there is no corkage fee. The service is part of the show, a bit urban and for some probably off putting but if you roll with it all ends well. Seating can be cozy or tight depending on how you look at it, but they try to accommodate everyone with or without reservations.

“Every time is a winner!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2012

I went with friends in late February. They loved it, which is what happens every time we go. I invite new people to join me, and it never fails, the food is always great. Frankie seems to always be there, with a watchful eye over everything. The restaurant is small, informal, modest prices and you can bring your own. So, you feel as though you are in a family's kitchen.

Lots of variety, so you will never tire of Frankies. Well worth the trip from anywhere!

“Can't beat it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2012

You can't beat Fellini Cafe! This small restaurant is tucked into a small plaza on Lancaster Avenue Berwyn, PA - across from the Berwyn SEPTA station. On first glance, you wouldn't think too much of the little restaurant, but one thing you'll notice, it's packed every single night!

Fantastic food, gnocchi to die for, and plenty of hearty fresh favorites that will remind you of your grandmother's Italian cooking. Best things on the menu? Everything that I've tried has become my favorite, but if I had to pick anything to eat for the rest of my life, it would be the sunday sauce dish with gnocchi. Fresh bread with your meal, delicious. They also have a great selection of homemade desserts including cakes and cannolis.

It's a BYOB without a corkage fee, so bring your best wine and get ready for a culinary delight! Well worth the trip from anywhere on the SEPTA network. Sit at the bar and watch Frankie work his magic with fresh made pizzas and desserts! Sometimes he even gives you treats to taste!

“Shock in the Suburbs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2012

The sometime owner of "Frankie's Seafood Italiano" in Philadelphia has "retired" to this tiny cafe in the suburbs and it's better than ever. And Frankie is probably working harder than ever. He has been present every night we have visited, making sure service and food stays excellent. What a treat to have an authentic Italian meal you would expect only to find in a large city environment, complete with bread from Brooklyn. Several of the waiting staff make you feel like you're with family. Crowded and noisy, worth the wait, makes you glad to be alive!
